I cannot belive it, the Foodnetwork is no longer showing the Iron Chef:redhot: :redhot: :redhot: :redhot: :redhot: . To fill in the Iron Chef time slot, they put $40 a Day and 30 Minute meals, granted I love both of those shows, they arent at the same caliber as Iron Chef.

I just hope that the Food Network would be willing to release Iron Chef onto DVD....... I think I may have to cry myself to sleep.

Giada is my fav...
I hate Iron Chef. I have yet to see a single dish come out of that show that looks remotely appetizing.

Giada, on the other hand, puts together some delicious looking meals and is smokin hot too...

it's obviously geared to the japanese palette, but i think a lot of that stuff would be good to eat. do you like japanese food in general?

I do like Japanese food and I was being a bit facetious about the appearance, but man, some of the stuff they come up with is just crazy. I saw it one time when the secret ingredient was potato. Sounds innocent enough, but one chef ended up making potato ice cream. Sounds like something Oscar the Grouch would like with his anchovy swirl ice cream...

Japanese don't tend to have as much of a sweet palate as peope in the West so a lot of things that are regarded as sweets/desserts here don't travel too well to the West. That being said I really like green tea ice cream which I thought would be foul.

The original Iron Chef in Japan ended in 1999, however the FoodNetwork started to play the show here in the states at around the same time frame. Iron Chef America just plain sucks big donkey balls.

I do enjoy Alton Brown very much, otherwise I would not have bought the Good Eats dvd's, but the fact that they canceled Iron Chef is a very big disapointment. And the only reason why I like Rachel Ray is because my gf is starting to learn how to cook from watchin that show, and she is hot :D
