I was looking at those at a recent conference I went to. I'd have no use for the wifi, but they looked nice otherwise.

Both the S5 and S6 have sleek, slim wave designs, appealing to users who want their cameras to look as great as the pictures they take
it's the metro camera of choice!

looks neat, but is WiFi really needed? who prints pictures straight out of the camera?

can you get a protector for the screen on the back? could be a scratching target.

i ordered a s5 2 weeks ago but they never filled the order so i cancelled.
i'm not on the hunt again. my main selling poing was the fact that nothing sticks out on the camera, no telescoping lens, nothing. i need something to take with me while riding.
but now i think i need a little more camera. so i might have to get something with a telescoping lens.

Good luck with indoor photos.

I got my wife an S3 for Xmas and the picture quality is pretty piss poor unless you're outside in bright light.

I have a wi-fi gizmo for my Canon SLRs and it can be very usefull on some jobs, but on a P&S I have no clue why that's usefull.
The last time I used one in a wifi rich environment reception was so piss poor it was pretty much useless.

Considering they were designed to be used in stadiums, arenas etc where everyone would be using it...not really a wise use of $999. A 60 ft firewire cord to a laptop or a runner is a better bet.

Although, apple had a bad as setup going for a few olympic shooters that was broadcasting back to the photo suites where his editor was selecting pics to transmit in real time. Laptop to dekstop howevver. The wifi transmitter for the camera was skipped due to being too unreliable.

If you would like something to take riding with you, I think serious concideration of Olympus in in order. Check this thing out http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/product.asp?product=1225

We keep our demo model on the front case in a cup of water and at PMA the reps were kicking them around like hacky sacks.

Meh, I've never had issues, but never been transmiting more that 20ft. I also didn't have to pay for it, had I had to pay for it the fire-wire cable would have been a better option in most cases, as some arenas don't allow them. I stand by the statement that on a P&S it's pretty much totaly useless.

Hey Ton,

Been bouncing around up north, going back and forth between philly and NY. Just moved in with the GF to a place with plenty of studio space for us. Going to school up here and working two jobs....besides that, nothing much.

What's been up wit chu?
