Okay me saying no physical exertion was a little bit of hyperbole, to better state myself, I meant that there is a HUGE difference between the advantages of being strong in DH, MTX cycling in general than in race car driving where blobs like Tony Stewart excel. There is no winning with Fraser, I love it. We should chat/argue/heckle at the open, I don't think you'd despise me as much in person.
good luck finding him. You'll spot the orange Transcend logo from time to time, but he's nowhere to be found. We've been at the same race countless times and he remains invisible.

Hobbits are easily overlooked you know...

Saying that open wheeled racer drivers suffer no physical exertion is mental. They routeinely get out so bruised and batterred (and dehydrated) that they have to be helped off the track.

Yep, I can say for a fake that have to work, I've got tons of data recodering HR, Breath, body temp..etc on drivers in several different types of race cars. Most drives, especially in open wheel and endurace racnig are pretty fit boys and girls, alot are also cyclist.

nobody despises you.
it's just that automobile racers are just as much an athlete as any of us here.
their physical conditioning (even under tonys excess) is second to none.
driving 500miles at 200mph or 400laps on a track like richmond takes something that most of us will never posses.
not to mention two hrs at barcelona this weekend. that's a day after an intensive qualifying session that to me has been better than the actual race so far this year.

Not to completely de-rail this thread, but we're strating to find out in the research we're doing with firefighters that the emotional stress(ie not being able to see, knowing were you are, fearing for your life) on people doing structural firefighting has a larger physiological effect than actually the heat, and work of fighting a fire.

Hey, I didn't mean to start some huge argument about autoracing, sweating, or body mass.

I was trying to argue that it is too easy to find fault in women dh, and we should try harder to find reasons to support it.

When i race off-road it kick's my butt so much worse than riding any DH. You would think ok 250 or even 500 miles in a car no biggie....not exactly. I just couldnt begin to phathem what it would be like in an indy car.

Cole Bangert - GO cole!

Lars Sternberg - GO lars!

both great guys and good to see there names up there.
It was cool to see more of a american group at the front.
I think all NMBS should conflict with WC's! lol

cody has some low rise bars. HUH

O also looks like the track was getting rutted bad so cody ran first in final after being last in QUAL.

Alex,
I wore a pro-tec at Sea Otter and the Fireston DH race, but I wore my new moto helmet at Fontucky. Got myself a Fox V3. Fits so much nicer than Troy Lee moto helmets, and is pretty light to boot.
