Well , that is not totally true. the US destroyed all the Japanese "war" aircraft that they captured at teh end of the war. sine most Zero's were Carrier based , most of them went to the bottom of the pacific, when the US Scuttled the Japanese Fleet.Morryjg said:Actually - not a zero. It was used later in the Pacific campaign ('45). The F-4U was used quite a bit earlier. I don't think they ever used 51's on aircraft carriers, which might explain why it showed up so late in the war.MikeD said:Was the Mustang used much in the Pacific theater?
