I got the OK from the owner to post these photo's from our last trail day at Highland Mountain. I decided to re-post this thread here for those of you who arent members on bustedspoke.com. Highland has been working on their trails for 2 years now, and will finally be opening this June. You can get more info at: www.highlandmountain.com

This was my second trail day at Highland since last year, and I was once again amazed by the speed and flow of the trails there. It felt like I could count on my fingers the number of times I had to touch my brakes. Berms are in all the right places, there is rock work or bridges at every mud hole, its incredible. The pictures make the mountain look like it's freeride oriented and all stunts, but I feel confident that even you anti-stunt "racer types" will love the speed and flow of the trails. Especially since c0rners are l1ke allllll teh_r4ge this year....or whatever.  Enjoy.

That stepup/ladder gap, then corner thing looks fun. I could see people flying off the end of that (can you? It looks like there are rocks and stuff there) and not being to able to turn quick enough.

That looks sick. Where did this place come from?
They have been prepping the mountain for two years now working out every detail before opening. They don't have a ton of trails yet, but the trails they do have are nothing short of perfect. Defenitly worth a trip this year!

PS: I gotta spam alittle and tell everyone my 40rc is up for grabs for 850usd. Under 6 months of riding, no races yet. PM me for details and pics :)

its actually alot longer and wider than it appears in that picture...I would be a bit surprised if anyone went flying off it.

i am planning on heading up there for a week in august.

does anyone know $$$ for lift tickets?
are there any XC trails around? (might be bringing a rather diverse group)
what about local campsites, hotels?

Since this is their first year running the lifts, the own only wants to open on the weekends when attendance will be high, so a week long trip won't be possible. As far I know there are no established xc trails around the mountain yet. As for ticket prices, I'm not sure if that information has been released yet, but you can check www.highlandmountain.com for further info.

well the weekend includes friday lifts also som you could get 3 days in. As far as riding around there, go over to www.bustedspoke.com and check out the trail section...there should be some options for XC stuff around there. As far as lodging, the next exit up the higway has a number of moptels etc. Its right near Lake Winnisquam so lots of lodging options with 10 15 minutes of the actual mountain

Well I'm one of the aformention stunt-haters, but the berms look very nice. It's good to see such solid-looking trailbuilding. Why was this not happening when I I was going to highschool in southern NH? :p

I look forward to making a trip there.

the mountain is not open yet...the lifts may be running but simply to bring people and materials up to work the trails not for the general public.
