So the DH race TBB had on the books for NorthStar is gone now. So unless I'm forgetting one, there won't be a single race in Cali this year at a mountain with a lift.

California is not a good state for mountain biking.

Mt. Baldy will be the resurrection... Probably won't be fully in effect til next summer though.

Now Elings is a state series race? Now thats just sad, break out the hardtail and XC lid:rolleyes:

what's going on out there ?
you obviously have the greater number of riders on that coast. are they just not dealing with liability, not enough profit ?

IS this the race that is movingt here to Elings, all i know is there was a race that was or once was over there but is now moved to rlings at september

Don't get all excited, it's on the XC race they are moving. There will be no DH.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Due to extensive construction at North Star Tahoe, we will be unable to put on the race scheduled for September 9th-10th, 2006. Our hope is to return to North Star in 2007.

The race will be rescheduled for Elings Park in Santa Barbara on Saturday, September 9th, 2006. It will be a California State XC race only, we will not be able to stage a Downhill or SuperD race on that date.

We apologize for the late notice and the change in venue but we are happy that Elings Park is able to assist us and accommodate this event.

I haven't been racing very long so... -Is this the worst year for dh racing in CA yet?

It really is. I am getting in something like 14 races this summer.
But you have Sandys, all of Tahoe, Peavine, Pinenuts, and super high gas prices.

but sadly, most of the higher elevation tahoe trails won't be ridable for some time now. skiiable. but not bikable.

moving back east doesn't sound very fun though. rain. rain. rain.

N* is only down for this season. heavy resort construction and bike park improvments. plus, Mt. Baldy should be insane fun once we get it goin. Until then it's hike a bike and shuttle runs.
