Avid polygon rotors ?

I've got avids on two bikes, one with round shimano rotors and one with the avid polys. Although you can feel the pulsing with the polys when the rotors are new, after they are fully bedded in there is not much difference...come to think of it, my bike with round shimano rotors squeals a little more. 
No squealing but they do pulse. I only notice it at low speeds like when I'm wheeling. It;s a du du du du du du du du du sound.
mine and my friends both pulse. He through on another round rotor just to see if it was the rotors, and it was. But not a biggie, we both chose looks over function.
I noticed a big difference going to older Hayes rotors. Someone was telling me the Hayes 8" rotors were a bit stronger and less prone to warping than the Avid 8". I don't know how much truth there is to that though.

Using 8" Galfer rortors with my Juicy Carbons, no pulsing and they are lighter and stronger than the stock Avid Polys.
couldnt have said it better myself bigmike lol. dude there rotors as long as they stop you pulsing wont kill you and more than likley if your decending at break neck speeds when you lay on those brakes you wont even notice the slight pulsing and if you do then look at it this way. you have a set of abs disc brakes for your bike lol

I am running the older style Hayes rotors without the notches in the outer diameter of the rotor and they work perfectly. I would assume it would be the same with the newer El Camino/Mudcutter/whatever style..:Jeenyus:. said:
The difference is quite good. They seem to grab a bit better too without losing modulation, possibly because of the greater contact area on the rotor.
