What is the name of that DVVD?

Never heard of it. I did a google search online & didn't find anything.
Try calling www.dropnzone or some retailer like that.

Probably Hardihood. As into DH riding as I am, I wouldn't watch that movie again if someone paid me to sit there. I was really disappointed. There might be other DVD's, but the only one I've heard of is Hardihood, starring Missy Giove.

I thought parts of it were good and others bored me to death. I really would like to see something more along the lines of the Kranked series or NWD Chicks.

So dirtdivas is better? do you know if you can get it on dvd?

I saw it free when it screened in SF, I know the woman who made it.

Not the most exciting movie, but a decent first film.

Yeah, I guess that I was just expecting a little more action and a little less sitting around and making sandwiches. The parts with Marla were cool since I had just finished reading her book.

I had just finished her book when I saw it as well. What did you think of the book?

Um, did they have a shot of them shaking their hair out after taking their helmets off...that's pretty obligatory when showing chicks in mountain bike flicks.

Hmmm, well, its been awhile since I read it but I can say that overall, it was a good book. It was interesting to read about her life and how she got started riding. It was really encouraging to read how late in life she started and how successful she is. I had to laugh a few times though at some strange comments she made that made zero sense--she made a comment regarding going downhill so fast that she would need a decompression chamber or something. Ummm, you need decompression chambers if you come up too fast, not down. But I guess thats a little nitpicky. I would recommend the book to anyone who into riding and wants to be inspired.

I love Marla...she's witty, intelligent, and a really down-to-earth person. She's also a science-minded person like myself, so I relate to a lot of her anecdotes and experiences.

I've had the pleasure of doing a jump clinic with her and 6 or 7 of my friends. She's a great teacher. I've met her a few times, actuallly, and she's always willing to chat, which is more than I can say about some other pros out there.

Its good to hear that she's just as cool in person. I'd love to meet her someday. I try to stay pretty up to date on her blog. Its very inspiring how she kept riding throughout her pregnancy and was riding within a week after her pregnancy. I know thats pretty debatable, but I think its great!

I read her blog too, she's really funny! I'd love to meet her someday in person. Her book was great; she's such an individualist.

I'd highly recommend Hardihood, just to see how things were about five years ago in DH (especially for women.) These women are our heroes!

Honestly, although it's slow at times, I enjoyed watching the girls walk the course and whatnot. I mean, how many of us actually walk the course? I got to see things that I'll probably never do.

I tend to zone out after about ten minutes when I watch biking videos featuring guys doing a bunch of stunts... it ends up being all the same to me. I found Hardihood quite refreshing for this reason.
