When gas prices started going up I never Expected it to have the effect it has. I hear without a doubt the following at work.
"Ummmm, I'm looking to buy a bike to ride to work to save money on gas."
"I'm looking for a mountain bike since I can?t afford to play on my motorcycle and seadoo this summer."

"I need a bike since my budget is to tight for gas now."

At least one to two bike sales a day and four or five repairs can now be related to gas prices. :) :thumb: :thumb:

We can't seem to keep the bikes in stock. I've seen peple come in who haven't riden a bike in years buy a bike. A few days later they get some bags or pedals, or camel backs etc... Like a week later they can't stop riding. The group road rides on Tue, Thur, and Sun that leave from the shop are growing really good. If you go out on the Chehalis western trail on the week ends it's like a bike traffic jam in some places.

They sell plenty of futuristic bubble cars that ARE garbage....... (see www.scion.com)

I hear ya. While technically possible to commute from Olympia to Vashon on back roads i dont think I'd ever be thay type of person. I have been "telecommuting" once a week. I figure that saves me about 15 bucks a day... (gas and ferry expence..)

Uhg....did you have Mexican last night:hot:

I'm thinking about commuting to work, but I'm terrified to ride on the road with cars, and on a bike with such skinny tires:help:

I'm fortunate that the Burke Gilman is right off the parking lot of where I work. I ride to work about 4-5 times per month, but I drive down to the trail. Forget sharing the road. Buncha crazies not look'in where they're driv'in.

I'll save my ER trips for casing tables, not eating chrome off bumpers.

When I lived in Seattle I rode from desMoines (SeaTac) To Ballard at least 20 days of the month and only cheated using the bus half way the other 10 to 11 days for over a year.:nopity:
