I know the mtb vs moto helmet thing is a hot debate (I am still on the fence) but I don't really care about that...

My question is simply: whats the smallest/thinnest (overall size) moto helmet out there?

The reason I ask is my 661 bravo had an accident awhile back and had to get tossed. My second helmet was an o'neal 905? moto helmet that ended up being given to someone in need (long story).

I really liked the 905, but it made my head look RIDICULOUS. I mean, I know its a vanity thing but seriously. The 661 looked like it could almost fit INSIDE the oneal helmet...it was that big.

Regardless, I need a helmet like yesterday. I ended up doing the first DH race with a skate lid and I am not looking forward to repeating that performance :)

Moto helmets are big because they protect more. That said the TLD moto helmets don't look that big, nor do the new Fox helmet though I'm not sure if that's a moto helmet or not.

I like my 661 Flight moto helmet and I've never really noticed the size. It's not hitting trees as I ride or anything. It's pretty comfy when I crash though.

Yea. To be honest I was kinda hesitant even asking the question cuz I am sure I am going to get some of the "its not a fashion show!" comments :) but seriously, the 905 was gynormous.

The Fox V3 doesnt seem to fit my head but I will give the TLD SE a shot (haven't had much luck finding any in my size around here so far).

Any other ideas what to look for?

It depends on how tall and strong, thin, fat you are. For exemple the Shoei, I got 2 friends riding it. One guy is short and skinny and the helmet looks huge on him. But the other guy isn't that tall but way taller than the first guy and the helmet looks very nice. I'm 190cm and tried a Fox V3. Of course it looked bigger than an usual bike helmet but nothing to worry about. The TLD ones seems to be the smaller one to me...
