generally hutchinson tires are actually the size they say they are in the DH sizing, unlike most other brands like maxxis who are always a bit smaller

the bulldog's are brilliant for any wet or loose conditions, if its maximum traction/braking with speed you're lookin for some of us have run 2.5 bulldogs on the front with a 2.3 octopus on the back, this proved well for Bromont (very wet, loose and rocky)

if its pure speed we have some of the lighter guys running 2.3 octopus front and rear at around 29-31 psi, this makes for a very very fast tire

the 2.3 python is proving to be a very fast rolling tire with more traction than expected with its new sideknobs, still not an octopus for cornering but if its fast and smooth these bad boys will do fantasticly

the barracuda's are likely to take over for the perfect summer tire, super fast rolling but still has large outer knobs for offcambers and high speed drifters
i really like the 2.5 octo front with a 2.5 bulldog rear. they roll nice and fast and the bulldog has that super round profile but smaller farther spaced knobs so its easy to toss the rear around.

i'll disagree completely with your statement as will some pretty slow racers like Gracia, Peat and Barel who all run between 25 and 29 lbs in their tires
i'm not sure who your team was but we have been givin feedback to Marc Gullickson and crew at Hutchinson and this years octopus's are better than ever!
my point was the Hutchies at high pressure get bouncey....bouncier than a Maxxis......and yes we gave them tons of feedback, we had to, no one could get through a practice session without mulitple flats......

is good to hear the moto casing thing came through......that will make them an awesome tire.......

How does the Hutchinson rubber wear compared to the Michelins?

Also, what is the profile on them like mounting to a narrow rim compared to the Michi's too? Think WTB dual duty or Mavic 721.

721's seem to be a pain in the ass for almost any tire, these included, we get them on but it ain't easy

spoke with Marc Gullickson today and he's going to be sending us up some more of the newest pirahna and barracuda's, they should be perfect for Canadian Nationals and Crankworx at Whistler

I haven't had a super hard time mounting tires up to the Dual Duty's yet, but we'll see. I meant what is the countour of the tread like on a narrower rim like that.

Shut up and ride...
Well, I've decided to try a 2.8 Pytho up front and a 2.5 in the rear.....

I'm a big dude with plow through it finesse, so the thinner sidewall is a bit discerning.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Dont worry about it. Ive been running one of the other 2.5 I had for several weekends at SS with no issues. Just run around 25 pounds and you are set. That front is probably almost impossilbe to flat. Run it in the 20-22 pound range and you will have mad grippage
