I'm guessing they'll have a rear shock, wheels, fork, handlebars, drivetrain, etc... I could be wrong though.

i remember hearing something about new linkages like the ones on duncan riffles bike
yeah, they're re-vamping the whole line, they're re-naming it the bananna split, and the team version comes with special "whipped cream" linkage plates.

I'm just wondering cause im deciding on wheather to get the 06 sunday team or wait till the 07 comes out, depending on price and components

being that IH Mad Catz switched to Avid I am guessing the WC next year will come with them which is a huge improvement over the Mag's. This year's Team is spec'd very well for the price, but I'd wait till next year when it doesn't come with a progressive shock.

...word around the campfire is:

There will be the addition of some anodized colors for the frames next year such as a Black Ano:drool: and some other cool colors, plus new upper linkage like on Riffle's Sunday:

talked to one of the techs at the mad catz tent at sugar and they were saying late this year like around late july early august something like that.also they will have a new linkage,10mm eyelet shock mounting bolt, and the new mounts and linkages will be able to take ALL shocks on the market so experimenting will be so much easier. ohh and im also gonna assume that the new avid codes will be on there as well due to the fact that the 07 that i looked at when i was at sugar had them on there and damn were they tight. so thats all i have from the tech and man i would deffinatly say go for the 07.

yeh man those codes are tight. they have a recess adjusting knob which is totally kick ass because well if your not carful with the juicies you can rip the adjuster clean off. ohh and i think they might be 4 pot brakes too but im not 100% on that.

Sam's bike now has the new Ultimate lever bodies(xc oriented, carbon levers, super light), and the Code calipers. Pretty trick looking...

which is the reason of shocks of air in sunday and others frames is by weight, work, etc or only prototyps???
It's a DHX Air for courses like Sea Otter where the weight loss is worth the performance loss.

no no no you were right about the Code brakes. They are the ones with the recessed adjuster. I was saying that he has a special hybrid setup. :)

I would actually consider buying a sunday if it comes with those new plates.

Even the new sundays still have the linkage tolerance problems, at the last race all the owners with 2006 elites, teams and world cups were complaining about it.

Seemed to be issues with the little bridging block the normal plates have, which the new plates eliminate.

I did have a ride of a couple and they do corner and pedal very nice.

I'm convinced to get a sunday for sure and im leaning towards the 07 cause it sounds like theyre just fixing some of the small complaints ive heard and putting a dhx 5 stock and adding avid codes

That new linkage... it seems to have a pair of holes just forward of the swingarm mounting holes. What are these holes for, a bridge to aid stiffness, extra adjustability, or a bodged CNC program? :p

The hole in the link is purely structural, additional strength by removal of material.

We already had this argument earlier in another thread. It's a DHX Air. If you disagree ask dw.

I don't disagree, I thought the debate went the other way around and it turned out to be an RP3.

That link looks CNC machined.
That link in the pic is 100% CNC machined from 7075T6 billet

The production bikes have forged 7075 T6 links that are CNC'd after. They are insanely strong, very light, and very very expensive to make, which is why most other bikes use heavier and weaker 6061 links. There's a new lower link arrangement with screw in pivots and a simple but effective shock bolting solution.

The 10mm hardware has proven to be pretty trick also.

yeh i noticed that dave. i talked to one of your guys techs and he filled me in on that and well that was honestly my only gripe about the oler sundays. so i am assuming that the new 10mm hardware improved the rear-end performance drastically.

Haha, looks like it'll be 08 at least before I consider touching one of those, if the 06s still have the linkage play problems. After 2 consecutive years of sub-par hardware, I'm sorry, but I just can't take anyone's word that it'll be fine for 07...

Iron Horse does not control its shock suppliers, but whatever. The 2007 bike (designed over 1 year ago) has completely different links and pivots, as well as a new 10mm shock hardware standard. If you so choose, you can tighten the shock hardware down tight enough to crush the shock bushing, but if the shock maker delivers defective DU bushings, its just going to mask any issues, not solve them. I agree with you though, you should take the word of some people on an internet chatroom instead of going and checking it out on your own to see whats up. :)
