who went to the opening on Saturday and what did you think?

i threw my leg over the intense 6.6 and loved it  the guys at the intense booth were super-nice.

i learned what the carbon bit does on the yeti 575 seatstay.

the niner bikes looked nice. i might single speed one of those.

i picked up a box of gu, some 661 Kyle Strait knee pads and some Fox Comp elbow guards.

the place looked good. i wish they had more than just specialzed products for parts. specialized shoes, tires, bikes, helmets, clothing... the list goes on. get some other brands up in that joint.

I wanted to go check that place out, but we eneded up taking a nice long family bike ride instead. :)

I have the same complaint with all of my local shops: brand exclusion. I don't know iof it's because the companies they sell forbid them from selling other stuff, but it really sucks and has resulted in me buying everything from places like Pricepoint and Nashbar.

I was there all day. Cynergy will be running Mt. Baldy's bike rental/retail/repair operation at the mountain. It's run by a bunch of great guys who work their asses off and I couldn't be happier to have then on board with us at Baldy.

By the way, they will be running weekend shuttles from the new shop to Baldy (when we open). I think they'll have two shuttles able to take up 20+ peeps. So thats cool.

Did anybody get a chance to check out the new proto Intense dh rig? Very sick I must say and at 36lbs w/ a full dh build!!

Nope, but it's not looking good for the next few months. Heck you might even get your drivers liscense in time for the first season.:)

The shop was pretty cool, I recognized a few ex-SuperGo employees.
I noticed the same thing with the parts selection, almost entirely Specialized.

I was a little surprised to find that they didn't have a single non-folding tire for sale. The service department looks sick though, I talked for a bit with the head of service, Diego. He told me that they have a full staff of mechanics and their goal is to have turnaround be while-you-wait or next day at the latest. That's refreshing considering anything at SuPerformanceGo and Helen's takes days. I'm taking my bike in this weekend to see how they do.

That's awesome to hear that they're going to run shuttles to Baldy, I saw the fliers there so I figured something was up.

Their email address is busted though, everything I send gets bounced back.
