Does the x.9 use a star bolt thingy? I think they are called torx bolts, but I am not sure.

I was trying to take my x.9 derailluer off and a regular allen wrench doesnt work. It looks like it takes a torx? bolt. AKA an bigger version of a rotor bolt?

Is this correct or am I just plain stupid?

Nope, it's a regular allen key, maybe you dont'y have the right size and actually you need to get the allen key far into the bolt for it to catch.

Strange. It looks like the bolt is for a torx head. I might have stripped it though, no allen wrench, metric or american sized fits.

I could use the macro mode on my camera and take a picture if that would help. :clue:

Standard 5mm, they look a little like a torx from the way its made. But its definatly a standrd 5mm hex head bolt.
