So with the proliferation of this year "my new bike" threads, here's mine.

2006 Orange 224. May go to an LG1, but not until after the Bromont Canada Cup. I like my chainrings round.
E13 ali direct mount stem on Risse Crown (this bike an dmy infernal begging is the reason Kevin decided to make them).

No and i have a feeling that a 1gram resi on a complete downhill bike isn't exactly going to make a huge difference.

Schweet. How does Gripshift work for DH? Seems like a scary proposition to me...
its sweet being able to dump gears and change a bunch at a time if you come down a fast chute or come to a quick stop. It just can be tricky to do quick shifts as you have to reposition your hand a bit. I dont know why more people dont give it a shot.

yeah, it's all preference, I don't give a damn which type I run, I did grip shift all last year, and it worked just fine. Some people claim that they accidently shift, and stuff, but you just need to get used to them I guess.

two seasons ago, i broke my right thumb.
switched to gripshift while it healed and was surprised at how much more i was shifting.
switched back to x9 triggers though. the twist shifters didn't seem to last long before you started losing the ability to get into upper and lower gears.
maybe now they're better.

max chainring with an e13 guide is 38t. you can make a 40t work but then you have to modify the guide.

for cassete i run a road cassette with a tight gear spread like 9 spd 12-25.... you can still climb plenty of hills in the lowest gear.

Never seen a Orange orange. Na man. According to the fellow at orange (ignorant pig). They will only do the paint job in white, silver or black. So i take it this is a custom job? Think ill stick to Silver. Stylish.
