Just got a new spring for my 888 and had a question.......Is that a complicated procedure or can it be done in the garage fairly easily with simple bike tools? If so, can anyone tell me how it's done? If not, I will take it to someone who knows what they're doing. Thanks in advance for any info/leads in the right direction.

Its fairly easy to do, and just involves some intermediate mechanical aptitude, gentle hands, and a good plan of attack (re: reading up on it first, so you don’t make costly mistakes).

There are instructions on Go-ride's website, and although it doesnt show how to change springs, it does show how to disasemble the fork as far as you will need.

I got mine switched out for a few bucks at the LBS, didn't take too long so im assuming it wasn't too difficult. Have it done by a professional so everything is done right the first time, its definetly worth it. Are you putting in firmer springs?

Yeah, right now, I have one red (soft) spring and one stock (black) spring. I'm replacing the red spring for another stock one. I only weigh 140 so the setup I have now works really good for dh. I like to huck a lot so I blow through the travel pretty fast. Just lookin' to stiffen it up a bit.
