Darren's is pretty sweet IMO. I wouldnt mind the tattoo if it only had the headtube stickers. Other than that I think it's pretty cool and original. However, seeing thousands of that same paint scheme would definetly get played out.

What a bunch of straight edge nerds. A bike shouldn't look all frat boy pretty, let it be edgy and unique. You guys probably put bike company stickers on your bikes so you'll be cool. Awesome. If riding bikes is about fitting in to a standard, I quit right now. Have fun on your cookie cutter, boringly colored pro-imitation bike. Let's hear it for a company that isn't afraid to break the mold on lame, drab-colored, boring bikes that all look the same.

i get your point and i actually dont think the bike is that bad, actually im on the fence on this kind of stuff v/s flames/gothic typefaces and that sort of setup

but, i also think that a bikeco as big as speczed coming out with a paint or sticker scheme like this, automatically makes it cookie cutter, so part of your argument i cant hang with at all.

Do we even know this thing is real? Where did this come from?

A big clump of graphics in one spot like the headtube might be cool, but i think it's bad...

It's a scan from the specialized 2007 dealer catalog

What are they thinking?
They are thinking that people will start threads like these and give them free press...

If you are at all into the "steez" scene at alot of the mountains where these bikes are being sold, this scheme is accepted. It is sort of big in the snowboard world right now too...See the bright yellow one piece's oakley riders are wearing, just an ugly fad that will pass...

B-Claw can run it, but commoners will need to be careful...

Bearclaw's bike looks far too much like this one:

The bike belonged to this dude:

After buying 3 new Specialized bikes a year since 1999 (hardtail, Xcountry/AM, DH/Freeride), it's all becoming quite clear. It's finally time to switch to Santa Cruz. Goodbye Demo 9, hello V-10. 15K a year to SC. Way to go Specialized. Good work. :dead:

It's sad to see people try so hard to be different. Just...be. Be comfortable in your own skin. Be comfortable on a black bike. Stop caring about turning heads.

I don't need an ugly bike to be an individual.

I was thinking the same thing. I always look to buy a Santa Cruz but end up buying a Specialized. But...SC has a bunch of great colors to choose from and Specialized has fake tatoo and argyle.

Exactly. Individuality isn't expressed via a whacked-out mass-produced bike.

Yeah, gotta agree. I don't need a frame maker to put out something that looks like a 3rd grader went to town with a crayon. I'll put on my own stickers and what not if I want it to stand out. At least if I do it, it will be what I like and not what others dictate.

The person who buys that tattoo demo is the same one who buys Green Day t-shirts at the Hot Topic store in the mall, and calls themselves a "punk." Credibility = 0.

If Specialized wanted to do tattoo right, they would have hired an actual tattoo artist to come up with something interesting, rather than just the "cut-and-paste-out-of-the-flash-book" look that they're going with.

Stupidest post ever.

so wait is that really the way the bike will be? or was this just a custom gone terribly.... ugly. it seems like it would be expensive to do all that painting or are they decals either way it looks like it would still be a sweet ride minus the collage of tattoos

its official, no longer the Demo 7. we're gonna drop the D and go with Emo 7. We just need to come up with one more emo haircut to bring the head badge choices to 7... its only fitting right? the frame is trying so hard to be different and is totally misunderstood in its uniqeness....

I don't mind the thing. I think it's sorta cool looking...hopefully I'll be the only one riding it.:)

Anyway, someone in this thread mentioned that they may all be stickers. If that is the case, then this is by far the most normal of the '07 color schemes. I dig the red link also.
