I'm leaving for Austria tomorrow, so I'm gonna start this thread now. I've got 1,400km of driving ahead of me and then maybe I will get a chance to drop you guys an update or two.

I know the big story is wheter or not I can qualify for the finals but there is also the little side story of the men and womens overall.

Peaty vs. Minnaar for the mens (Hill also has an outside chance).
Mosely vs. Jonnier in womens (Mosely with a big lead).

Here are some useful links: Updates to follow!

Right gents.........just got to media centre for some net access. Schladming is one cool place, beautiful town, good food all that. The track is superb, one of the best I have riden in years. The start goes from the half way point at 1308m, the gondola keeps going up though and there is a track going from the very top of the hill at 1830m.

Practice again today and yesterday, it rained all last night and this morning, but the hill wasn't long drying out. Wetscreams were te tire of choice today though. With over 290 riders the track is getting cut up real bad and some huge braking bumps are forming in places.

All the usual suspects are looking quick but Minnaar is injured, he has some heavy strapping on his right calf and is limping around, taking it very handy on the track too. This could leave the overall wide open for Peat.

I saw Peat and Rennie doing their freight train this morning, practiing together the looked fast.

That's all for now, we only have 1 hour of practice tomorrow form 8-9am so I might do an update then.

Later all!

Minnaar's kit has to be the sickest looking thing I have ever seen,Lehikoinen's Blue and White stuff is sweet too.

We had 2 hours of practice this a.m. from 7am. It was cold and misty, but super tacky, buckets of grip. I saw Minnaar practicing, he looked cautious in parts and made some big mistakes in the woods but still managed to boost a big whip over the step up. Matti was looking soooo fast in the first corner too, no brakes and loadsa roost!

That's about it XC is on at the moment, nothing to exciting!!! 4x is tonight.

I say Sam Hill for the win, tried to hang with him yesterday, in 2 corners I couldn't see the Monster Energy patch on his ass.....scary fast.

Auf Widersehen!

After watching him in practice at Rotorua I realised how insane that dude was! Every time I saw him come into a section, he'd be totally off the brakes, twice as fast as everyone else......and then wipe out. It'll be scary when he can hold a run like that together, and I guess his WC win this year would have been close

F'ing awesome updates and pics Akula! That is just so freakin scenic. How do you reckon you'll go regarding qualifying?

I once tried to follow Hill down Buller, and I know exactly what you mean - that guy seems to cover ground at literally twice the pace that I could, he's out of sight so fast that you don't even get a chance to try and follow his lines.
