hey im looking to get a new fork for my 05 specialized fsr xc comp to replace the manitou splices that were on it. id like something with lockout too. something to go along with the 4" of travel in the rear. I would also like to spend no more than $350.

I assume by "all mountain" you mean a 5"-6" travel fork? I wouldn't suggest that on a fsr XC comp. Your bike is not designed for that size shock and you will change the geometry and lose a good amount handling control. I say go with a Reba race as well.

specialized wouldnt recommend any fork with more than 5" travel in that frame.

Reba is a fine choice, or if you want a bit more, go for revelation, and use it on 130mm setting.

also, the new Marzocchi MX`s are quite nice forks for the money, with 120mm travel.

I have a XC comp and have tried the Foxes ,F-100 and Talas
then I bought a 2004 Minute 2 the perfect fork for this bike.If you buy a 2006 Minute make sure too get a Minute 3 because with this bike you want 100mm of travel not 130mm the 130mm fork makes the bike handle all wrong

I've got a Fox Vanilla 125RLC on classifieds, check it out, it'd serve your purposes well as it's a good happy medium between All Mountain and XC. Very versatile. If I didn't have this fork for sale, I would still suggest it or something very like it.

I've got the Revelation and it's great. At full travel it will be a little too much travel for that bike, but might help when you hit the rough stuff. Just run it at the low end of the travel for most of your riding. Adjustibe travel AND lock out. I love the fork.

RockShox has really gotten better in the last fews years. Manitou has dropped, and Fox still rocks but customer service can be tricky. i test rode a RockShox Reba Team w/Motion Control, rebound, compression, floodgate, Poploc, 100mm - it rocked.

Well I don't know about "getting better". I've always loved RockShox, but I'm probobly biased from the days when I rode my Mag 21!
