alright, this is not that flashy bling bling piece of kit you may thought it would be...

the big things are, that this is my first ever brand new complete bike, and that i was racing on it the second day i had it. After looooong months spent without having anything... I was nacked after the race, but it was something i missed for a very long time. And this bike brought it back to my life.

so im just happy

and i love it

I agree with the guys (and girl) above, that Specialized is a sweet ride. For your first complete bike, I'd have to say that you made a great choice. Enjoy.

its not particularly light. :disgust: the stumpy has an inch more travel, and as I felt, its a bit lighter. But its more expensive as well, and the basic idea was to get a fairly decent bike for cheap.

I think it was a good starting point.

I have already started to upgrade, the cheap ball bearing noname headset went into the bin, and I put an FSA orbit XL II instead. Light, and reliable.

secondly the wheels sold easily on ebay ;) and I got a pair of Bontrager Race Lite tubelesses. 28 spokes, DT hubs...

now all I need is a bit of time to actually ride it

ah yes the RS recon forks did not last too long unfortunately. I had to send them back to warranty, because some annoying noises came from it. The rockshox guys replaced the whole air chamber unit, they said, that the original was faulty. hopefully its going to be alright now

anybody else had issues with recon 351`s?

Keep an eye on the bottom of the top tube just in front of the shock mount if ridden hard these have a habit of cracking there

I will, thanks for the advice

Although its covered with lifetime warranty as all specializeds now, so even if the unlikely happens, im not in a big trouble.

and it wont be ridden too hard either... ;)
