i saw one of the most badass cars ever made for sale today...

omg!!!111!!one!!!1uno! am giggling and excited like a schoolgirl.

i was driving today at noon, was supposed to meet my dad for lunch.. when like 10 or 12 blocks away from my house i saw this badass rear end and fat tires 200 yards away and getting closer... could it be it??
YES IT WAS!. a 1968 charger r/t (from the exterior and emblems it absolutely looked like).
i started drooling, drove slowly past it... then went to lunch with my dad. i had the car on the back of my head for a few hours, jealous of the owner and hoping someday a car like that would show up for sale....

i´ve never seen that car in the ´hood, there are very few 68 chargers in Lima, am pretty sure i know most of the guys into collecting cars in da hood... this was an unknown car for me.

at 5pm, i went back around the same place, but the car wasnt there. i thought why they would leave a car like that outside... it had no signs or anything.
so i stopped and asked the security guard... "what´s the deal with the long old orange car that was sitting here??... he said the magical words.... ITS FOR SALE, the owner from #10xx just said so this weekend".

i couldnt believe it. there is a charger for sale.
i GOTTA have it.... i dont care if it ends up costing me a kidney... but i gotta have it.
the guard told me the owner will be there tomorrow, am soooooooo gonna be there cash in hand. (crossing fingers!!).

am so excited, the thrill is just too big to sleep tonight.

i dont have a fancy cell. just the one that came free with the contract 2 years ago. so i couldnt take a picture and the car isnt there anymore.

i called my dad aftewards. told him "dad, i might need a backup emergency loan in the near future.... there is a 68 charger for sale". nuff said.
he understood the urgency and utmost gravity of the situation.

the charger, challenger and the barracuda are my dream cars.

this car is a total unknown to me. i think i know who the owner is, but i have no clue how he got the car.
i didnt even knew there was an orange/white interior 68 charger r/t in lima.

since threads like this are worthless without pictures... i snapped a few quick ones today. i live next to a military base, so i had to be quick and stealthy (plus i didnt want the security guard to notice am taking pictures of the car, that´ll likely be a handicap when haggling)

the build up.. just leaving home.

yup.
he said he´d be available today´s evening. but i´d rather check out the car and test it at broad daylight.

so tomorrow 10 am is when.

am kinda familiarized with the classic car market around here. i also own a 68 camaro with a big block.
guessing by my experience with muscle cars in southamerica, its very likely that car has most (if not everything) original parts on it.

from long time to long time jewels appear, like hemi chargers (one appeared many months ago with 40k-ish ORIGINAL MILES!!), shelby mustangs (by now all of them are accounted for am pretty sure) and the like...

the other day i saw a ferrari dino parked at my office. i talked to the owner, he told me his car had 33k original miles and still had the original paint.:biggrin:
