roomates constantly breaking into locked room? any fixes

all good ideas. they arnt taking anything major, stuff like gum, work out shorts, toilet paper etc. i have a dead bolt, but one kid knows how to bypass it. these are the kids i have lived with for 2 years and this problem just started this year. its the only real problem we have, besides keeping our house clean.

Put itching powder all over the TP and in your work out shorts...

Take a video of you doing something to the gum (use your imagination), then after they have taken your gum, go down and show them the gum being violated.

Seriously, if I had a roommate bust into my room for any reason, even a fvcking paper clip, I would go thermonuclear. Their belongings would be on the sidewalk in a burning pile.

You need to nip that in the bud NOW.

First it's a pack of gum, then it's change, then it's your CD's, then anything goes. They have no respect for you because you do not demand it.

Let them know in no uncertain terms that if they set one foot in your room without your consent that you will consider it an act of war.

Seriously,

I would padlock my door. Then if something ridiculous happens, have a freakout in his room: kick the door in and explode.

Frankly, if you discussed this mulitple times, either your roommate is a jerk or you don't get your point across well. You can be firm without being a dick, certainly about your private stuff.

its not just one, i live with 6 other guys. it just so happens that i have everything in the house. like i said im outty in december but untill then im gonna try and rig up someform of an elctrified door knob that i can arm and dissarm from outside the room

Yeesh, some people have no respect. Time to lay down the law here. I would look to the first Rambo movie for inspiration. That thigh-high sharp stick thingy always impresses me.

If you are really going to do something, it would be wise to move any possesions that you don't want stolen/destroyed into storage.

When leaving, put several large tinfoil pans full of milk, raw bacon and raw fish under the house.

If you have flooring other than carpet... pour a bottle or so of rubbing alchohol under their door, and set it ablaze! It shouldn't damage the floor, but it may crisp some of their belongings. Also it doesn't last forever, it goes out in 10seconds to 3 minutes, depending on the amount you put on.
