Best Biking desktop Background? Now with 2008 action!

howdy folks,
thanks for the props through the thread ... always makes me feel good when folks like my work.

so for the support over the years here's a couple you wont have seen yet:

and

let me know what size desktop has been decided upon ... i'd have to say 1024x768 is fairly standard .. but i use 1680x1050 .. and i'm sure there's plenty in between ...

as for who's is best :) spomer v fraser v nowak v gibson v lorence v meagher v hylands v etc v me? i dont think its for us to decide, images are a completely subjective experience - i learn that everyday - i just love the fact that we're all taking pics of masters at work in the dirt.

peace out :)

1680x1050 should be the new standard :)
100% agreed.

Jeff - is that a widescreen or regular aspect rez? Regular 22" isn't it?

I'm gonna get some stuff up when i get back to the office later this week. I will probably do one large wide screen rez and one large regular aspect rez. The OS' should all scale down appropriately.

The color in those rule, Gary. Did you ever find those tripods?

24" widescreen.

And my god I want the 30".
Ah ok, that was my first guess, but the vert/horiz seemed too close, so I went with guess #2. Not at home so I couldn't check.

30" is sweet, but i ended up preferring dual 24s. One for previewing work on and one for working on. Works great for aperture and other apps that recognize dual monitors for stuff like that. I think I'd need a new desk for it too, ha.

i'm not gonna do every size - y'all can work that out yourselves ...

1024's:

and

not going to post 1680's in a thread .. goto link above and save as. one (big) caveat - these are for personal use only. they've only been posted here .. please respect my right to earn large sums of money for 1/1000 of a sec's worth of work :)

Fraser: a mate is in new york on business trying to get me the tripods .. if he fails in his mission .. i'll just order them from bh. thanks. i just wish needles would stop trying to destroy my flashes & tripods.

I want to do the manager drop, but everytime I feel like hiting it it is closed, and when it is open I seem to be riding terribly. Its funny how tame it looks in a picture, scary in real life though.

always love Hoshi's work (one's with frontline watermark) ..

anyways, yep its Moab. we took a detour there from Deer Valley to Sonoma. its over the top of the hill from Moab - a local rider showed us the spot. we went in the evening .. but its was miserable - huge thunderstorm ... but shot these down a fin:
1st run down a couple of metre wide fin with about a 40m drop on the side:

and then 2nd (my fave):

we went back the next day to this huge bowl, where the other shots were taken, before sunrise and shot greg jumping out of the shadows into the early morning light ... killer day. one more for luck:

The Manager requires you to SLOW down, as you found out Frasier. There have been quite a few injuries (broken necks) there since it opened two years ago. Every fall that I have seen or heard off, involved a little too much speed and landing on the woodwork on ones face.

It is FUN though!

Ouch, mine wsn't that bad. Maybe 2-3" off the deck, but enough to realize I could have gotten myself into MUCH bigger trouble. The problem is that corner before with the jump on it as you turn left before the containers and then the single track after just above manager is my absolute favorite part of the mountain.

Ive always wondered if anyone has dropped the manager. The middle part is the only steep part. It looks like you could miss the entire middle section and drop right onto the wood. Anyone have pics of someone dropping the manager?

Every time Ive done the manager the rear tire comes off a few inches. Every person Ive seen do the manager has the rear tire come off a few inches. One time I hit the brakes a little hard and the rear tire started to skid and the bike started to turn sideways. I made it but crashed off the wood at the bottom. I still love that roller. Last year I watched a 50+ guy roll it on a Sunday super fast. I have no idea how he did it so fast. It was amazing to watch.

oh a feeling i know too well i went over the manager blind (having never seen it before) all i saw is the warning to roll down the steep so tried that. Ended up doing exactly what that guy above did except i landed on my head and arm, ending breaking my finger. Damn first step i thought that was it until i saw the rock just drop away and had way too much speed to roll it
hence came the consequences

good times,

love those minaar pics

I thought dropping was the only reasonable way to do it (bikenweed):

And that 50+ guy may have been the "manager", the namesake and creator of the Manager.
I had a few beers with him and his crew, one of those burly guys you know just owns the trail.

This ones cool too (Dfoxracing):

This one here makes me feel happy:
