:brows: So heres the story. I hate the people i work with... not so much the job. I am moving to Arizona in 7 weeks and the plan is to work remotly. I want to do it for all of the wrong reasons i think... money, and beni's... not because i enjoy what i do. I am thinking that working from home will be nice, however im beginning to think that my manager feels threatened by me and isnt going to let me go. He is a corporate yes man with no thoughts of his own, and when he does decide to think... its usually some WTF retard rambling... so here are the options i have thought of...
1. work remotly and suck it up
2. quit and get my masters while working at a LBS and having fun
3. get my masters and work just hard enough to keep my current job
4. get fired so i can collect unemployment

I have a feeling most will say something smart...

I would say work remote, go back to school and collect a fat check as long as they let you until they either toss you or you finish school.

I feel your pain, only mine is slightly reversed. I used to work remote about 70% of the time until we hired a new manager. He feels that we must be in the office and be told what to do every minute of every day (when he has no idea what is going on most of the time) to get anything done.

So now I spend 3 hours a day commuting on the train to and from work in order to get done what I could have had done from home. I get a lot of work done on the train as well, but he feels that it doesn't count unless I am in my chair 8 hours a day.

I have an interview today and many more on the way because I don't want to do this much more.

If you might like your job remotely (as in not having to deal with asinine people) go for option #1.
If that doesn't work out, transition smoothly into #3.
If that doesn't work, you will be relegated to #2 or #4.

*edit* I'm personally working on my own version of #3.. except I work very hard. Just trying to branch into another direction that will allow me to work far fewer hours for more money.
