just watch it (contact me if you want it) and its very good, waaay better than "boring" nwd 6 and 7, music is hm,hm,hm nothing special i must say i like it more from kranked 5, some tricks are really "damn is that possible"

only bad thing is to much talking, i really dont care what style they are riding, what they do in their life i want to watch movie not watch boring talk....

movie is not to hardcore like nwd i mean tricks and stuff its little more agressive than roam, something in between nwd and roam..

rank from 1 to 10 i will give it 8

i really don't care about styles either, but its cool to see how they handled themselves with the trail they built.

I thought it sucked overall. Music wasn't that good and the riding was kind of boring.
I would give it a 2, because even though the latest Disorder videos weren't all that great either it was still better than this version of Kranked.

Time for me to get rid of this vid if anyone is interested.

Didn't care for it as much as kranked 5. Too much of this new school slopestyle bullsh**. I can't wait for the bmx-tricks-meet-manmade-abortion-of-wood trend in freeride to die off. I'm more about racing these days, but still enjoy a well put together freeride flick. However, lately I seem to be doing all I can just to NOT shut these movies off.

I agree completely. It seems to me that we really aren't doing anything to differentiate the sport from bmx. I'm personally getting tired of people commenting me about my "bmx" bike...

i think kranked 5 gets a 10/10 but that could be because it was the first mtb movie i ever watched. so it had a major impact on the way i ride to this day. i think that kranked 6 was supposed to do the same thing and they were trying to let people know that. i just dont think that any 10 yr olds are going to buy it and study it the way i did.

i think the next style of filming will be focused more on sessioning a couple specific handmade trails instead of just showcasing the big new trick that so and so has learned.

I thought Kranked 6 was put together very well. Looks like Bjorn went to film school or something during his time off. The music- lame. I thought the best part was Peat and Rennie, it was the most in depth segment.
I liked the riding and the stunts, but that was all you saw. The idea behind the film was to build and ride the most gnarly trail you can think of. Most of the time all you saw was the very end of it. I wanted to see the whole trail. I just wanted 'more' from each segment. I really felt like there was something missing.

NWD7 Although a little heavy on the slow-mo; is a much better movie.
Plus it has Vories rididng here in The Atl down at Ga Tech. Riding some of the same stuff I've ridden. I can't do the gap over the water but I've drooped into it. I wish I knew when he was here. I could have shown them some more stuff to ride.

i just grabbed this vid on friday and thought it was pretty damn good, really like the idea of having a built trail for each guy to express his riding style on. Really liked the vories section as well as boyko...

i second the music sucking...

DITTO! 10!

As for Kranked 6, I had a toss up at the shop to get it, NWD 7 which had just came in that day, Roam or Super 8. I now know I should have gotten Super 8. I'm a racer boy.

I really enjoy The Collective if I'm not wanting to get amped in terms of this style of film...but you know what got me the whole time in this movie?

When they would switch a camera angle of someone flipping up to a step up or showing 3 different angles of a section of trail as they're coming down it, I was just thinking to myself. "Oh, he didn't nail it the first time around. The guy riding this super technical trail that is their "ultimate" is not doing all these tricks in 1 run. He's sessioning and the filmmaker is editing it together.

Sounds cheezy, I know, but for me I'd prefer seeing them nail the whole trail in 1 single film loop with no cuts or alternate angles. Plus, I was PISSED to pop in DVD #2 to find out it was a music CD for some band I didn't ask for??? That was lame.

I loved getting to watch Peaty and Rennie on the "turn trail" but was annoyed that it was built in Fangorn Forest (LOTR reference) and you couldn't see them for more than 2.2 seconds before they disappeared.

The only part that felt somewhat flowy was Eric Porter's because they were helicam chasing him for the most part.

I like this part. Newer bike films are more advanced than you think. They dont just use one camera, then have the rider hit it numerous times while they film different angles. Come on. They use multiple cameras to get multiple angles. Once in awhile you will see other camera men in the background in other films.

:imstupid:

I think circus has to be one of my fav movies. Its a little old now but its just flat out race footage. Can't wait for earthed 4, earthed 3 was pretty cool. Try and get your hands on Last Chance 2 its mainly race footage and a look at the Irish scene there was a trailer floating round on a post here a few weeks back.

oh, I understand the cinematic appeal. I'd just like there to be maybe a 2nd DVD in the box that had a helmet cam follow that first guy from the top all the way to the bottom of the trail just once to see the whole trail. The way it got cut and pasted with all the angles, you never got a feel for how long each rider's "ultimate" trail was.

Porters was really the only one where you actually had a sense of the whole trail until he disappeared in the woods (and then they just don't film that part of his ultimate trail???)

Wouldn't you like to watch a single camera follow Leech down that 1 trail from top to bottom once? That to me would be more intense and fascinating than watching him piece it together.

Oh...and being helmet camera'ed in the Peaty and Rennie section would have been FANTASTIC!

A good example is the helmet cam footage of Fort William that the one guy narrates that's posted online. WAY cooler than any footage I've seen of it on any of the Earthed videos. When you see him rock that trail top to bottom, you're just like "Holy crap, that thing is brutal and has arse loads of jumps, berms, hits and everything".

I would have liked to see more footage, maybe an extra disc, documenting the construction of the trails. As an avid trail builder the fact that this movie was supposed to be all about the riders expressing themselves through the trail was what persuaded me to buy it and I was a little dissapointed that it was only riding. The msuic sucks.

Ya I suppose you are right. The other disc could have been used for extra footage rather that a crappy CD.

I'm with Paulooo, I enjoyed watching NWD5 more than 6 5 feels more active, for the most part keeping you wanting to watch what's going to happen. I really enjoyed Porter and Leech's segments in 6, but l don't think they can overcome the shortcomings of the rest of the film. It seemed like they spent too much time and energy building these trails and didn't bother hiring another camera operator. The camera angles get to the point of bothering me, showing plenty of similar shots (like the repeat berms with Peaty and Rennie) and neglecting things you'd like to see, like for me, more riding from Trent Kidd. Makes me wonder if they came up short on runtime and threw in an extra clip with one cool stunt or what. But on the other hand, that segment has some awful slow mo/skip frame filming, and some great footage of the mystery headless rider. So yeah, I wasn't stoked about NWD6, give me Roam any day.

What was with rennie and peat being...i guess 'pissed off' about the trail they had to ride? Seemed a little asshole-ish to me.

Watched it Monday night. I liked all the trails that were built and the shooting was nice. Some of the sickest lines. But like most have said, what the F with the music? It sucked.
