6" travel fork: QR or 20mm... big difference?

I'm looking at getting a 6" travel for a trail bike.

I was wondering if any of you guys have ever ridden long travel trail forks with QR and then 20mm (or vice versa) and noticed a difference in stiffness

I'm about 200lbs right now and my intention is ride trails, up and down hills, no DH riding specifically. Pretty much all-mountain riding as they call it.

Thanks.

Yep, it's just more confidence-inspiring and a heck of a lot stiffer.

For XC I don't like it (QR is easier/lighter) but once I try and go fast downhill I wouldn't want anything else.

While it's a factor, there's alot more reasons a fork is going to be stiff, have great action, and inspire confidence. There are really good QR forks out there, that are stiff and have great action.

But that being said i sure like my Fox 36 20mm thru.... The older thru axles used to be such a pain in the ass, while the newer ones are not much more work to take off a tire than a QR.

well the 20mm is supposed to feel more stiff, but i myself didnt notice any difference (though its kind of hard for me to say since i weigh 130 but even so my opinion is that it isnt worth buying a new axle over)
