I really need some help here with a purchase. I will be buying a DH frame in the next 3 weeks. I can get a deal on a Big Hit III frame at 800.00, morewood izimu, at 1840.00 or cove peeler at 2000.00. The allure of the Big Hit is price and durability and the fact that I rode one race on my friends this season so I have first hand experience. The reason for the cove is single pivot and the reputation of the company. Morewood is the dark horse I have heard good things but no first hand experience. I am aware that I am comparing two sinlge pivots with an FSR. Monetarily the Cove is the most expensive, Morewood second and then Specialized. Since I'm just swapping out a frame I luckily wont need alot of parts. I figure that if I buy the Big Hit I'll be able to send the DHX shock to push and still have some money left over. What do you think any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Yes I have done thread searches, now I am asking for your help.
Thanks
JK

the best deal is the bighit 3, which dhx is it? 3, 4, or 5

morewood is 2nd, the best frame of those 3, except $

how much are you going to race and what level, the morewood is the only real race bike out of those 3 you are looking at.

I whould not even consider teh big hit...Look at the cove or morewood therre both well consturcted single pivtiots made by quailty companys. I have a cove playmate which is bascily the freeride version of the peeler. I like it very much havent had a troubles...but a plus that i see with the morewood is the fullleganth seat tube. Also you can get an 06 izimu from price point for 1600.

Joe, Thanks for the response. Although the Big Hit as stated was the best deal. I've decided to go with Morewood. Neil from Morewood emailed me today. In this day and age we respond to emails with as little response as possible. Neil's response was 5 paragraphs broken down into the pros and the cons of the bike. Since I have started riding, dealing with any CS I've never recieved a reponse like that from ANY manufacturer, it shows pure polish and professionalism on Morewoods part. I was treated like a real person. So to all who happen to read this no need to post. A side note, as soon as I get the Morewood I'll put up a pic, if you are looking for a bike email Neil (totally shameless plug)
Cheers

If you are located in SLC, UT have you considered the Ventana El Cuervo at Go-ride. We the 2007 model in stock and could come close to the Morewood price. IMO the El Cuervo runs circles around any of the bikes you mentioned, and if you are looking for customer service our shop is tops at setting up and servicing DH/FR bikes.

If you have any more questions, post them here or drop me a line.

big hits are super light for an 8 inch travel frame, i hope the one youre looking at has the setup for a 26" rear and not the 24".

I would go with the big hit, bang for the buck you cant go wrong.
