If you lose some weight you should be able to get it in there.

Are you gonna drop by the shop today?

Ive already tried a rubber mallet. It seems to me that the bb shell is slightly ovalized so I may need something with more force or maybe i should listen to bicyclist and lose some weight.

hmm, a soft piece of wood, like a 2x4 should work, Greese the inside of the shell, tap one side in, slide the spindle part way though, then put in the all important center spacer, (the spindle will ensure its in the right spot) then knock the other bearing in with the 2x4. I did the exact same process with a spanish BB this morning.

Good luck.

most local bike shops should have a profile (19/22mm, whatever) cup press or some other type of bb press, which im sure they will let you use or do it for free if they are not busy. make sure you use a quality bike lube tho, and also the spacer in between the cups. Also, a good rubber mallet has been working wonders on 3pc cranks for decades.
