I'm on the KTM (orange bike) and my friend is on the Kawasaki (green bike)... nothing special just some riding from a quick ride today before it go dark out. It was nearly 65 degrees! Wow I don't really like this type of weather when I should be skiing

Crossing the river:

Riding by the marsh... some nice singletrack:

Small jump:

Climbing a hill:

Berm (starting to get really dark):

By the time we left it was hard to get out of the woods it was so dark...

Although it wasn't actually as dark as the photos make it out to be...

Comments/Suggestions wanted and appreciated.

I just recently went to Lake Elsinore to do some riding at the MX track, and I know what you mean by not having enough money. My dad got a stress fracture about 4 months ago and it's still not healed, so he ended up selling his bike and now I haven't been able to ride much. I'd take myself but I don't have money for car insurance (it's all going to my DH bike) so I can't drive. Long story...

Anyways here's some of my photos, enjoy:

Man I wish I could ride as often as I used to. I've only been riding dirtbikes for about 8 months and it crosses over so well with DH, its made me a better rider in each sport.

I'd have to agree
i m sure that because the stuff that s on ur motorbikes would be at a deore/x7 level, and if u ride ur bike more often and race it and use high end parts it definately will be more expensive to mantain. but if u begin to race mx, and add the cost of gas, tires etc etc and all the high end parts u have to change to be competitive at a high level ur moto budget will skyrocket pretty fast.

Exactally I just "joyride" on my MX bike but I ride at a competitive (or atleast I like to think so) level on my mountain bike and i do use all high-end parts. Breaking x.9s in half is no fun.

well then atleast for anything but racing on a dirtbike is less maintinence then racing a mountain bike if I were to rephrase..

Dirt biking rocks...i only got to go a few times this year. I know this isn't the place to say this but sometimes they can be more fun than my bike living here in minnesota...it's sooo flat here! It's takes a little less effort to twist my wrist than to pedal a bike.

What with the weather SUCKING in Denver (3 storms dumping over 4' of snow in the last three weeks) I needed a little reprieve from it all and headed out to Moab with my friend Grant over this past weekend to ride some freaking MOTO. Of course, this was in addition to the LAST reprieve I took in Boulder City, but we won't get into that here. Anyhow, here's some moto pics from this past weekend... not really actiony shots but moto pictures none the less.

We thought Moab would be dry and sunny right now, but it turns out they got the only snow they'll probably see this year a couple of days before we got there. Still less snow than Denver, so we're riding!

Before we even got riding, we knew we were in for a treat when we saw this sign:

The snow did make for some good "roost" shots. Just lean back and hold on, and let the back end wiggle around on the slippery snow and do what it wants. Fighting it would pitch you on your ear. Here's Grant taking off down a snow-covered trail:

A cool shot of tracks in the snow:

Me taking off on the Sovereign Trail ATV loop. We wanted to ride some of the singletrack up there but basically couldn't see it so we didn't:

We both put her down a bit that day, with my crash being at the top of a really sketchy, narrow, icy hill climb that I dumped on at the mid way point, which was a sharp right hand turn. I got caught in a runoff ditch, and cracked a shroud, but other than that we survived. We spent a lot of the day trying to figure out where the hell we were, pushing back out of dead ends, and generally giggling a whole lot. That night we hooked up with a Moab local I know from the DH scene, drank some beers and watched Supercross at his place, and he offered to take us on a good ride on Sunday. We readily agreed. We got to spend more time riding and less time gawking on Sunday, but here's a shot of us getting ready... you can see me in the orange vest there, me and Grant both on blue Yami 250Fs and TJ with the sweet yella 250F:

We did stop up at a gate crossing and got this cool shot of Determination Towers. God only knows where we were at this point, but the trail was fast, slippery, bermed, steep, flat, techy, slow, smooth, washed, snowy, and everything in between. At points we were going so fast in 4th gear that the grin on my face was frozen there permanently:

TJ also took us up a short hike to a little spot called Froggie's Hole or something like that. It's basically a tunnel through 30 yards of rock out near Bartlett's Wash, and it was SUPER badass.

Hopefully in a few weeks Moab will dry out and warm up as is standard Moab winter, and we're heading back for SURE. Sunday we rode and rode and rode for about 3 hours straight, over every kind of terrain I could ever dream up, and it was SO dope. I normally ride track, and this was über fun. Can't wait to hit it again! You know... after I go to Bootleg Canyon again and then learn to surf in Mexico...
