No this is a writing intensive paper it hasnt the slightest parallel to multi-page reports and such, iv written mulit-page reports and comparatively they'r almost a breeze, nor am i a senior
How are other papers for any class "non-writing intensive"?

And for the public school thing I'd have to agree with what others have said. A friend of mine won the National Spelling Bee a few years ago and is only looking at Ivy schools. There's a LOT of people smarter than you (and myself as well, lol) who don't go to a private school...

no if i was a public "skoowler" than my IQ wud currently be in the negatives and id be smokin weed
yeah, you go and think that. i've met many kids who go to private schools who are dumber than i am.
o yea if i was in public school that teacher wud be in big trubl, not that i myself have any problem with controversial things like that but others do of course
there is a difference between studying history and being preached to. your paper is relating the creators of two different religions, not saying which one is better. i do love how you said that the quran has "inconsistensies" compared to the bible or jewish law. sounds like this paper will be written without expressing bias.

so how is it writing intensive? what makes this so different from most papers i have written?

Are you serious?

How can one have any sort of well rounded education without discussing the major religions of the world?

Do they not cover any sort of comparative religion any more in public high schools? That would be retarded. :disgust1:
I'm fine with high schools only covering the basics. Today, not having a Bachelor's degree means you're not going anywhere anyway.

Deeper philosophical discussions should be in college.

Basically it has to follow a much more complicate format which is meant to give u an overkill dose in a short period of time so the effect lasts the rest of ur life

And i really didnt mean much by that comment except the fact that alot of kids from public school do turn out twisted up even though there are many who also do not, it comes down to what kind of crowds in the school u hang out with

Its a good thing im not one of them. And do to the fact that its a christian school it is obviously biased to Jesus rather than Mahomet, and i just read a book about mahomet and the koran has many inconsistencies to the bible, they barely even have any parallel to each other, right off the top the Jesus obviously preached peace and the spread of the gospel rather than mahomet who led 78 "jihads" against the Koreichites.

and i talked about the writing intensive thing in a previous post to this one

Listen all-star, when it comes to getting beat up height has very little to do with it.

You have yet to explain what writing intensive means. I'm guessing you have to write in a particular style and include certain methods of discussion? If so, get used to it.

unfortunately they don't even get to do basics. My wife is a high school history teacher. They arent allowed to touch religion.

In all seriousness, Not having a Bachelor's degree may mean "you're not going anywhere" but you can still register to vote, without a Bachelor's degree, and you can still re-elect presidents who are involved in a "holy war" (which is how a big percentage of the world population views the current situation in the middle east) without a Bachelor's degree. It would be nice to require high schoolers to take a class covering the roots, and history of religions.

Unfortunately, there are 1 million other things our public school system is doing wrong at the moment, but that is a different thread altogether.

Yeah, and obviously deep philosophical could be held off for college. I completely agree.

OH yeah, and Elf said he would "never consider going into plastik surjury", when the topic of angioplastie was brought up.

Priceless.

If you actually put forth some genuine research towards Islam, you'd find out that it's MUCH different than that. I'm ashamed that people in our world stereotype Muslims as solely being fundamentalists when quite obviously fundamentalists are found in any sort of social/religious group (INCLUDING Christianity)...

First off, this thread is hilarious. I feel a little absurd trying to even inject some sense into anything. If only this happened two weeks ago, it would have been a strong thread of the year 2006 contender.

Yeah, anyway, researching religions on the internet is a dangerous thing. Really, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't have a decent background already, as there is so much crap out there it's hard to wade through it all and find something decent.

Teaching religions in public school is also a dangerous thing. It can rather easily be done on a basic level, but I think that it gets difficult for many teachers to be balanced after that. I'd like it to be taught at a higher level than it is now (I got so little instruction in world religions, it's ridiculous), but that is a difficult proposition.

And, elf 232, I'd recommend (like COmtbiker) that you reconsider the language and presuppositions you are using when examining this topic. "Inconsistencies" is certainly not the right word to be using.
