Call me old fashoned, but trucks should be body on frame, not unibody. Try off-roading something where if you ding it hard enough, its totaled. With a real truck, you can just buff it out or replace a panel and keep going. Weak idea imo, so its definately made for suits who like to tow boats, and the typical penis envy soccermoms. That and its almost as ugly as my GF's accord.

If you must have import, there is the tundra. Sweet truck with legendary Toyota quality. The new silverado is a sweet truck too.

is this mommy and daddy's way of buying you out? Clearly, after reading only a couple of your post your not going to attend any sort of college...
Why are idiot parents buying their idiot children giant vehicles these days as their first cars? Is it a rich parent thing? If you feel the need to dump copious amounts of money on your retard childs car, at least buy them something thats more unlikely to kill a Crown Vic full of old people.

They need to put you in Toyota Camry with a 4 cylinder or something...Brand new drivers shouldn't own cars that weigh more than 3000lbs, especially ones with the literary function of the OP.

nothing worse than a mere bike mechanic, telling people how to spend their own $$$ and live their own lives.

go tune a derailleur.

The Ridgline has all the disadvantages of a truck and lacks most of the advantages of a car. It was designed by people who don't need a truck, for people who don't need a truck, think of it as a chop-top station wagon. Station wagons are pretty good at what they do, but they aren't "cool" anymore so car companies have started making them suck and labling them as "crossovers" or putting a bed where the back used to be and making you think it's a truck.

If you need a smallish truck go for the Taco, slightly larger go for the Tundra, fullsize you can't go wrong with an F150 or Silverado.

But for hauling freinds and bikes you don't need a truck, you need a roofrack on a sedan.

Blue, you have much to learn about wealthy Southern Californians, I think giving new drivers underpowered cars is a bad idea, it just trains them to mash the gas pedal at all times, that get really bad when they eventually get something with some power.

This what i use to haul my bikes and friends. I have 4 trays for the rack if needed. Does what i need and gets 35mpg +.
Case in point. The only situation where a truck hauls bikes better than a car is when shuttling with a whole lot of bikes in the bed. Plus with a car you can lock the bikes to the roof, lock the gear in the truck and leave the whole cabin free for people, nuch more comfortable on a long trip.

Funny, I have been driving my moms toyota camry 4cylinder. She likes the fact that the Ridgeline is super safe. So when I crash, I might not get hurt. we arent exactly rich. and Im not into the whole burningout and driving way fast thing(wastes chit load of gas). I like the trunk in the bed thing, its pretty nice inside, and its japanesse, so i can druve it into the ground.

I have been driving the BMW, it has a 4 clyinder, and its fast as hell, but its a death trap

First off wich BMW are you driving with a 4 banger that's "fast as hell" there hasn't been one of those since the e30. If it's newer than an e30 it's definitly not a death trap, probly pretty damn safe.

Yes I guess the Ridgeline does technicaly have a trunk, but what do you do when you stop for lunch and need your jacket out of the trunk, you have to empty everything out of the bed to get to the truck that's pretty lame. It does give you the convenience of a car trunk around town, and the bed gives the convenience of a roof rack for hauling bikes, but you can't really use both of them at once.

I would also assume that any access road to an open trail is in at least halfway maintained condition wich meens that except during or after heavy rainfall a sedan will make it down the road just fine, and you shouldn't be riding trails after heavy rainfall anyhow. A Honda Accord can make it through any trail rated 3 or lower out of 10 no sweat, a Ridgeline mite be able to push it to a 4-5 trail, but with it's crappy pasengercar tires it's going to have grip, and punture issues on anything over a 3.

Again, if you need a truck, get a real truck, if not get a real car not a halfway inbetween POS Ridgeline.

Ok, it not "fast as hell" but its pretty fun, and quick. And yes it is a death trap. 96 BMW Z3 1.9 hahahahaha

the doors are about 3 inches thick....

but come on, the ridgeline will obviously be able to do alot more off road then a accord, it has alot more clearance, and 4wd

Im in your head
Diesel is the future
ummm no it isnt, its still gas just with 25mpg more than gas, hydrogen peroxide is the fuel of the future, it exhausts itself as water rather than carbon monoxide, and is a replenishable resource, and can be produced currently for about 3.00$ (US), which is .50 cents more than gas but eventually (once it is in larger production) will be undoubtedly lower than gas

That's saying the chicks like you now:disgust1:
ouch...

ok heres the situation
another one of my friends (DH66 on RM) got a ridgline
first car for him too, he went off-roading and bam, blew the engine
that was a good 4k to fix that was not covered by honda
that seem wierd considering its supposed to be off roadcapable since it has 4wd and has a locking diff.
Case in point, my civic has more ground clearance that it does.
Its (The ****ING Ridgline) very versitile, decent gas mileage, actually pretty capable off road. If you have the cash for a ridgeline just get a toyota, I garuntee you will be happy with it. Oh and btw, my friend can't fit his dh bike in the back with the tailgate up, its very tiny and not all that usefull
