Fueled by parent complaints, the too-much-homework issue has taken root primarily in wealthy communities with high-achieving schools. Struggling schools are still trying to involve parents in their children's education.
What the hell is this all about? If I suffered through homework in grade school, so should my kids. Bastards!

OMFG....the stress is caused by too much American Idol texting anxiety...I never complained about homework. I had a sh*t ton all the time (stupid AP classes....) but ya know what, I did it. Oh for shame that I missed the newest episode of ATHF or TMNT. Oh horrors, I finished my math homework before I played my SNES...Bunch of pansy a$$ parents that let their kids whine AND get away with it.

Substance abuse?? Yeah, that's what you get for learning. Find a way to deal, otherwise get yourself checked in to the local addict/homeless shelter, cause that's where you're going to end up living. Natural selection ain't so bad sometimes.

Damn right, I had to do, so do you. You don't like it, tough. Welcome to life.

The main argument is that homework teaches time management. why should a kid have to manage thier time being a kid is simple get up, school, come home, play, dinner, go to bed.

most adults go to work do thier hours and come home. yes there is some work you need to do at home such as paying your bills, making dinner and other things. but you do those things because if you don't you will go hungry or all your stuff will get reposesed its more out of survival that adults work kids go to school and do homework because adults tell them to.

Oh And ADHD..... Kids learn by doing. build it, smash it, bend it, run with it... all physical activitys so we as adults decided we should make kids sit still and be quiet for 5 hours a day in a school room (maby an hour of play for lunch hour) and Billy's on pills because hes running around the house causing more property damage than Guns&Roses.. then you want him to do another hour of sitting and learning with home work... my inner child says the hell with that

Kids in elementary school should not have homework, and if they do it should be activity-based and encourage parent involvement, not sit-down-by-yourself tasks.

I'm with MMike.

You should see the bookbags the kids in my neighborhood are hauling around. I'm surprised they don't all have major back problems.

The only homework I ever had in gradeschool was maybe a once a year book report and instrument practice. I practiced procrastinated at a young age. I remember writing a report on buffalo in the 4th grade the morning before school started. I got an A, I was really smart until I killed all my brain cells in kollidge.

I went to an engineering school. Short of a few lab reports which mainly contained calculations I don't think I ever had to write any papers. I did however build a robot that could shoot golfballs through 1" plywood.

I went to a Fine Art school= Bllsht school.

Mostly, we did purty things, then bllshtted our way through critiques about our inspiration and how our particular piece was a mirror image of current plasticized society and the trends of the new generation to expose such things....

see what I just did?
I made an art report!

I tried to get artistic once and signed up for an snow sculpture contest. We were going to make a giant middle finger but got lazy and it ended up being a large snow tit. Came in dead last, received 0 of 1500 votes.
