Watchin' you. Writing it all down.
I hope it is playing at the IMAX in Charlotte.
I called yesterday afternoon. "At this time there are no plans to bring that movie to Discovery IMAX." With a little prodding, "The policy in the past has been to not feature R rated movies to IMAX. However, that decision is made on a case by case basis."

In Southern that means unfvcking likely.

Sucks man. I just found out that it'll be playing at our local IMAX, but I may just settle for the normal viewing. Meh, whatever, I'll be happy either way.

Pshhh... I saw the matrix 2 and 3 in there.
O well, that sux though... guess I'll have to get my tix for a regular little wussy-man screen. We have decided to go Friday though instead on opening night.

I think 300 is going to be boring actually...

Something about it doesn't make me excited for it for some reason.

I did read the Miller graphic novel and I felt the same way. That it was kind of boring.

How it translates to the screen? We'll see. I'll check it out. I see most everything that comes out in the theaters anyway so I can't totally say it'll be lame until I see it.

Luckily, San Francisco has no morality laws like banning R rated movies in IMAX.

I saw the Fellowship of the Ring in the IMAX. It is definitely an upgrade. I had to turn around every time an arrow was fired, to look at the rear speakers...

Well, I saw it. I won't let you in on the details, but if you liked Sin City, you're going to love this. This movie is fantastic and definitely has that graphic novel surrealness to it with a lot of morality themes. It had a few things that I didn't really like, but the vast majority of the film kept me on the edge of my seat with my jaw dropped.

like most things, the real story is far more interesting and the people involved more heroic than any film could ever hope to be.
Really. Like the story of Jesus? I hear there is a lot written about him, and they even made a movie too...

I haven't been to a movie on opening night in a long time. This movie better not suck. Funny, looks like 300 is getting it's own "meme":

The Kansas City Star newspaper movie "critic" gives 300 3 1/2 stars out of 4 in his review today. Random useless info.

Photoshops make me laugh so hard. There was a 100 page thread on Honda-tech.com and it was all photoshops of a looter from New Orleans and I laughed so hard I think I wet myself.

Keep the photoshops coming:busted:

Which many of us prefer than you.

Oh BTW, I am PREPARING FOR GLORY as we speak. I see the movie at the IMAX in about 4 hours. I wonder if I should bring a stick or a chunk of leather to bite down on during the intense scenes.

EDIT: I dont know where "than you" came from. Why did I type that... I dont effin know.

Hahaha...true dat. The problem is not availability so much as affordability. I went through 1/4 oz of the schtanky danky at a buddy's bachelor party Saturday night and what with the limo for the night, lesbo stripper toy party, drinks in D.C. and tips a plenty, my philly wad's totally blown.

I had to build up the suspense. ;)

I really enjoyed it, and as someone said earlier it has a lot of similar characteristics to Sin City. There were a few slow parts but as a whole I was kept on the edge of my seat. The battle scenes were nothing less than epic, and left me with some sort of sadistic grin every time somebody violently died. I found the surreal/fantastical filming style to be incredible and despite all the CGI it was very well done. It wasn't the type of CGI that tries to mimic reality but always had something distorted to it (primarily lighting and shades, REALLY cool) so it was amazing. Maybe it's the fact that I'm still in high school and have to analyze literature so much but I found myself analyzing the movie and found it to be quite allegorical of morality and things like that.

I like movies like this. If you're looking for a historical documentary that mystically portrays what happened to an acute accuracy, then don't see it. It captivated me for the length of its duration and I might end up going back to see it again.

Satisfied? :)
