Well I'm coming over to Canada from Australia for 3 or 4 months probably June- September to ride (downhill). I rode whistler last year and loved it. Looking for other resorts worth visiting? So can you guys recommend me places to go. Would enjoy doing some racing as well. Any help appreciated

For resort riding, check out Sun Peaks, Silver Star, and Kicking Horse. Sun Peaks is near Kamloops so you have lots of options there.

Canada EH !
Well, what part of Canada are you going to be visiting ?

If you are in the East Ontario/Quebec, Bromont and Ste Anne are worth riding. For racing the Quebec Cup series is pretty good , seven races between May and September, all you need is a UCI lisence.

Also I hear the BC race series is also good if you are only staying out West and of course there is also Crankworx at Whistler in late July, there are number of races you could enter there as well.

Thanks for that guys. Not real sure which area I will be in but ill probably start in BC. I did a couple of the crankworx races last year and they were a bit of fun. Pitty you have to be Canadian to enter the Canadian Nationals though cause that course looked like fun.

Well Cdn nationals are not in Whistler this year but there will be a Canada Cup at Whistler at the end of Crankworx which is open to non Canadians

Few trails but what's there is good. Getting better every year and the DH course the use for the Canada cup is pretty fun to race on. There's good riding in the area too. In fact the island is a great place to visit and ride.

I think Whistler and Silver Star are the two best resorts and Ive ridden almost all of them in BC... except Mt Washington.

A good path to take would be;

Fly into Kalispell Montana
Drive 1.5 hrs to Fernie and ride
Drive 2 hrs to Panorama and ride
Drive 1.5 hrs to Kicking Horse and ride
Drive 4 hrs to Silverstar and ride
Drive 1.5 hours to Sun Peaks and ride
Drive 5 hours to Whistler and ride
Drive 2 hrs to N. Vancouver and ride Cypress resort and the Shore
Take Ferry to Vancouver Island and ride Mt Washington
Drive to Vancouver and fly home.....

You could do it in reverse order.

NOW THAT WOULD BE A TRIP!!

Cheers mate. Everything seems to be fairly close which is cool. Would it be worth bringing a hardtail for some DJ and 4x as well?

But there are some good DJ's to be found in the area. Having said that you'll have enough riding on the big bike to keep you happy. Travel "light".
