Nico got a flat tire during the race...and STILL won by 3 secs...
This told to me by nico in the past when he was WON world cups with a 'flat' tyre (the system).
"no, eets ok, zee tyre grips nice when eets flat".

Not hatin', how can you, he is a god...but the overall pace I think is slower and he should be beating Julien in his sleep.

I rode MX with some bike racer friends yesterday, one of whom just recently had some french media types at his house. They had just did interviews with Nico in france and Nico was saying that the rally thing has been so hard, he has made no money doing it, just been spending all of his own money the entire time, the reason he is doing some MTB races now is to feed his hunger for racing and hopefully make a little money doing it (yikes).

The racing part I can understand. It's easy for him. The money part, well, that's desperation unless he scammed an old year 2000 contract somewhere? :D

In Europe Nico is a god. 6 figures is a small price to pay for a god.
Plus...they know he's guaranteed to not get any medals taken away since the French are the only ones who never fail a drug test....:lighten:

Vouilloz got 2nd place at a DH race this past weekend behind Aurelien Giordanengo - who appeared to be pretty damn fast that weekend.

Local riders tend to be damn fast on their home courses.... they do have a lot more time on it. But beating Nico.... that kid must have had one heck of a day, or has perfected the art of getting under the tape without it getting cought on him or his bike (if anyone has watched the Hypnosis comentary you know what i am talking bout hahaha)

Props to the kid for winning, and i hope Nico does well in the World Cups !!!

Aurelien Giordanengo is a former BMX racer who came to DH in 2005 and his results were good enough after only a couple of french cups to be selected in the junior french team for the Euro and then for the Worlds in Livigno. Not bad for a first year of downhill racing !
