what do you use/recommend

right now i'm looking into a fox launch suit for hitting up diablo this summer.

usually i use their launch knee/shin guards... they don't spin, but i've bailed hard enough that the padding has actually compressed into my skin to leave some decent scars.

just tryin to find some decent protection that isn't too hot (i realize it's an oxymoron)

hahahahaha....

is the dianeese that good?

I was lookin at the fox because it wasn't to much money, and i'm not gonna be racing. Just for the occasional weekend trip to diablo or plattekill or something like that... and it seemed to look cool enough to wear for riding if i was planning on getting stupid and had to pedal to get there aka... like sprain ridge...

also just for added safety and mental safety, because i just got into freeriding and mountain biking in general, in the fall and already am out for 3.5 months w/an injury... lol

Dancin' over rocks n' roots!
I have a Rockgardn ladies flak jacket for this season...brand new and eager to get used-- thank you very much Mark!!! I was wearing it around the other night to see how comfy it was and I have to say it definitely is well vented and I found it comfy for the short time I was testing it out. My husband is looking into the men's version now too because he doesn't want to drop such a huge amount on the Dianese suit for the same reasons.

My girlfriend currently has the launch suit, and she seems to be fine with it for shuttle runs/race runs. It's surprisingly heavy though compared to my 661 assault suit, but that's probably a given since it's made to be light.

I like the fact that you can take the ninja turtle shell off the back of the fox suit, I hate those things riding up into the back of my helmet.

All that said, if I were to buy something right now, it'd probably be a Pressure Suit pro.

I just got a small 661 pressure suit. It seems real nice. Just be carefull cause 661 runs big. Unfortunatly for me its to big, gonna have to try and sell it.

I have the Rockgardn set, and it has been pretty decent. I endoed up on the shore a couple of weekends ago, and landed on some pretty big rocks and roots w/o much damage. Unfortunately I had some internal bleeding, but I think the suit did a great job of protecting me and absorbing most of the impact. It is very well ventilated as well.

661 Roost, Helmet (correct size, cuz I know some foos out there wearing a smaller one cuz it's cheaper or something :banghead: ), elbow/forearm, knee/shin, ankle side pads (they seem silly until you meet mr. rock and his friends)

Not really fond of how most pressure suits don't have adequate rib protection. I wish they made a body armor system that incorporates the articulating spine guard, and shoulder/arm protection of a pressure suit with the near impenatrability of a roost protectors chest piece.

(near impenatrability with respect to most hazards found on the trail... bullets from hunters are exempt from this claim)

Rockguard has literally saved my life, I will get picks of it up. If anyone knows anything about santa barbara trail I was ridding naps castle and i lost my bike at the fastest section of the trail and landed directly on my chest, I only had a few brused ribs but i would have broken all of them.

I went with the 661 Assault Pressure Suit. I need mobility, and that's one of the lightest shoulder-cupped pressure suits that 661 makes.

Plus, thanks to Sponsorhouse, the club picked up a sponsorship so I got it for pretty danged cheap.
