In the Northwest.
honestly, it looks like they found some XC trails and just ripped the downhill sections and pieced it together to look like a long DH trail.

I went to visit my wife's grandmother somewhere in Idaho, I think it was near Pocatello. I took my bike thinking there had to be somewhere to ride, it turns out the only downhill was the levy by the irrigation ditch it was covered with goathead thorns though, I spent most of the weekend racing through the downtown area scaring the locals.

Nice to know theres going to be another DHer there this summer. Where are you going to be working and staying?

As for the DH, the mountain sucks and that roam video makes it look much cooler than it is. They really had to pedal their ass off in that vid cuz that traisl isnt steep at all. But the good news is that there are a few good secret DH trails on the mountain, and lots of good cliffs all around. PM me if youve got any more questions, ill be out there this summer working before i head out to colorado so i can show you where the good stuff is.

I have spent some time in Ketchum and if you think the trails suck you must have some damn good riding where you live! Sure, it is mainly xc but there are some LONG flowy downhills out in Greenhorn as well as Adams with a little bit of high speed rocky tech to keep you honest...
Good thing is, most of the climbs are quite gradual and could be cleaned on bigger bikes if you're a strong rider. I've never checked out the lift accessed riding in town but I'm sure I wouldn't be complaining about that either.
All in all, if you're training to be the next world cup superstar, maybe Sun Valley isn't the place to be. If you like to go F&%#ing fast on fun, flowy singletrack then Sun Valley IS THE place to be!

Go earn some turns and have fun!

Pay for a lift ticket to go to the top of Balde (Sun Valley Ski Resort). I've hit every trail and the Warm Springs trail is the best... awsome single track. Bring extra tubes- you'll need them.
