those diamondback bikes are totally underrated just like the new mongoose bikes- their reputation for wal mart bikes brings down the vibe on their new bikes. not to mention the prices are great for the bike you get

they look like an r9 to me.
i was thinking that too. not necessarily a bad thing.

and i think its good to see diamondback and mongoose stepping up their high end offerings again. they have the resources (or seem to at least) to put out good offerings at reasonable price points (EC-D for instance). very good for the sport - makes it more accessible to more people. i can remember BITD when mongoose made some hi end Titanium xc bikes that were damn sexy.

Hopefully they fixed the Mission this year, All 2006 Missions were pulled from stores. We had to disassemble them and return to diamondback.

I used to work for DB bitd, we had some really nice bikes then in came Derby Cycles and their line-up went to crap. Sounds like Derby is trying to make DB their flagship brand, maybe we'll even start seeing the venerable DBR moniker soon, and (gasp) a DBR team?

BTW, i still have the poster of a female racer (can't remember her name) with a painted-on team kit, those were the days...
