So if one was to organize a weeknight uphill/downhill race at sst would anybody be interested?

-It would not really be "downhill" so to speak. The trails selected would feature terrain to simulate a DH course, and only be as downhill as you could get from the trail area of sst.
-Courses could be around 1-5 minuites depending on interest, and would be nearly as much flat and uphill as downhill so the 6" bike would probably rule all.
-Races would be timed with stopwatch and walkie-talkie so mostly just for fun.
-No entry= no registration= no liability= ride at your own risk.
-Oh yeah two classes... Competitive and non Competitive.

Any takers?

a mid-summer, early saturday evening "race" followed with a bbq and beer in the field would make for a memorable event!

Okay so BYOB for the elders and BYORB (rootbeer) for the younglings!

In any event, I'd be down for racing for DFL!

Ok just rode and sorted a couple of course options.

I will shoot for next tues. the 29th.
Probably paint the course to be ready for some practice by 5pm.
The length will be determined by the attending riders on tues.
I'll paint a full 5 minute course, and we can make the finish wherever the majority votes for. From the parking lot follow the painted arrows.

Any volunteers would be appreciated, and spread the word.

Mini D it is.

Be there.

sounds good nick, thanks.

I'll call ya
The first rule of SST is - you do not talk about SST. The second rule of SST is - you DO NOT talk about SST. Third rule of SST, someone yells Stop!, goes limp, taps out, the race is over. Fourth rule, only one guy to a run. Fifth rule, one run at a time, fellas. Sixth rule, no spandex, no plums. Seventh rule, runs will go on as long as they have to. And the eighth and final rule, if this is your first night at SST, you have to race.

We should also look for a weekend date later on in the year. Like a Sat or Sun that we all aren't racing somewhere else. That is if everything goes well for Tues. Good Luck to those who can make it. Have fun, and be safe.

Just show up with what you've got and we'll figure something out.

Remember this is just for fun, who cares if a HT is racing a 8" bike...

But like Nick said - NO spandex

This sounds too good to miss. Gonna need some cow bell. All bike races need cow bell.

I'm down if one of you are willing to keep an eye on me five year old during my run... or maybe I'll give her my cell phone and she can be a corner marshell.
Seriously though, this a cool idea whose time has definately come!
