get your lifegaurding certs and be a beach/pool lifegaurd. you get a good tan, do nothing all day, and get paid very well because of your responsibilities. I used to get $10/hr when i was 17. It's going to be hard for you since the summer has already started though...

otherwise ask for a raise and start stealing stuff....
Same here, lifeguarding pays the best. I loved it.

Wow, your only 16? You write as though your 20. Anyway, Starbucks pays 9.50 an hour... And you can ask intellectual questions like "do you want Whip Cream with that?" or "Tall or Venti?"

So where did you live, Castle Rock?

What the fvck was out there back then?
We lived about 8 miles out of Franktown, at the time there were sod farms and chicken ranches. When we went to town we went to Parker.

For underage drinking we went to Elizabeth or Kiowa. The Red Barn had a drive through window - they would sell beer to anyone. My biggest dream at 15 was getting my license so that I could buy 3.2 beer...

Thanks.

I'd consider it, the commute isn't far and I could get free coffee, but holy **** the people that go into Starbucks make me want to shoot myself sometimes.

¡Phoenix!
Or work at a mom and pop coffee shop where the filthy hippies hang out. Imagine the joy of finding a dreadlock and some pot seeds in your tip jar!

That's awesome.
Everyone needs a goal, you start with Coors and then work your way up. :)

Of course you have to remember that this was in 1980 - Mother's Against Drunk Driving hadn't really become angry yet.

For those who don't know - 3.2 beer was legal for 18 year olds to buy up until the mid 80s. The birth year of 1965 was the final cut off date.

Before you leave, make sure that the job you are going to actually IS better than your current position. I recently left my job to go to another company only to find out that I had opened the gates of hell (so to speak). I actually went back to my previous employer.

Just remember, every job sucks. Some just suck more than others. Enjoy being 16......what you are doing now isn't a career, it's just a paycheck. Do it until you go to Spain....using your employee discount to your full advantage.

I think that's good advice, and it looks like it's my plan at this point. Just had to rant a bit.
