Hey guys, theres a few of us planning on coming down from Washington State to race the North* races. Can you give me an idea of where to camp? Looks like theres going to be about 5 racers coming down. Whats the parking lot area like, will they let us set up our pits during the practice and the race? Any help would be great. Thanks, see you there.

Parking is usually cramped because of the amount of construction that goes on in the summer time. who knows what parking will be like there until the season really gets going.

Never had to camp, but I've driven by some areas heading out of Truckee north of the Prosser Damn. That wouldn't be too far away at all. And you'd be right near the river which could be fun.

the upper parking lot is huge so if you set up near the top of the parking lot they wont even notice you .

Camping ... the goods is at Donner lake in Truckee , big cold lake to go lump in after your race ,showers !!, walking distance to town and bars !!
and it's cheep , just remember to make your reservations early for the race weekends as the campground fills up pretty quick .

Check out www.reserveamerica.com for some of the major campgrounds on the north side, good luck for the first race though, alot of them are advanced reservation only and it is the weekend before the fourth of July. There are first come first serve types on Hwy. 89 between Hwy. 80 and Tahoe City, they are just really primative, the Truckee river is the only shower and you probably need to bring your own drinking water. We've got a spot in South Lake Tahoe at "Campground by the lake", its a bit of a drive from N*, but just a bit of a walk from the casinos!
