Okay, dumb title.

So, I've got this new frame (DMR Transition) I just built it up and works and looks great. I went brakeless for a little bit, but then I started to ride some jumps so I threw a brake back up there for the whole "running into trees and my friends" things. I forgot how much I like brakes. On my old bike, I upgraded to bb5's. I couldn't learn to like to them. I prefer the feeling the feeling of hydros. I work at a shop who deals QBP so I would prefer to use that. They sell Avid, Forumla, Hope, Shimano, and Hayes.

I have a Saint rear hub, so a Saint brake would make sense, right? But, I've herd that Shimano brakes have no modulation, is this true? Seeing as the Saint rear hub has that crazy lock ring thing, does that mean I can only use a Saint rotor or do I have other options? My thoughts were a Juicy 7, but I'm not big fan of Avid, though the Juicy does feel nice. I would love to have an HS33, but I'm worried about it's performance, specifically on dirt. I have an S-type rim, so can I use a rim brake? Sun Ringle's website gives virtually no information, which is why I'm asking.

Does anybody have any recomendations?

This is a rear brake.

By the way, if your selling a good brake, I could take it off your hands for yound .

check the hot sheet from your qbp rep. get whatever costs the least. you don't really need the best modulation on a dj rig but my personal recomendation would be the juicy 7

I'm not sure about how shimano brakes have no modulation. Im running LX hydro's on my Xc bike and they have great modulation, but it might be different on setups like the Saints. However i agree with bent^biker, Juicy 7's would fit the bill.

i know the odler saints dont ahve any modulation what so ever i ahve 2 set of them and they kick absolute asss for dh and fr but man they aint so good for dj's and street. i just switched to the juicy 7 and man talk about modulation.. **** i killer. i would take a look at them. but in order to run a different rotor for you saint brake you wuold need a new hub that allows you to screw the rotor on rather than the whole lock ring thingie which by the way loosens up after a while so make sure you check it...

well S-Type/MTX rims are disc only. i have seen someone set up a V on one though. try out a BB7. i had one for a while on a previous bike of mine and it was the best disc brake i have felt compared even to Juicy 5's and hayes mags. they are just great, super reliable brakes. also have TONS of power. never slipped on me when doing Abubacas.

The best brakes I have found for street are the Magura Marta's , ligh , grabby and powerful with good low speed modulation for park type tricks .

The pre production Hayes Stroker Ride's I have been testing latley arnt bad either.
