I'm so sick of trying to dig the solid clay around here that I've decided to do something nice and easy. Does anyone have any ideas for something very easy to build that will be fun to ride on a DJ/street bike? I'm not interested in quarters really, too hard to build and I've never really enjoyed them in the past. Does anyone have any ideas?

Box jump, spine, hip. All can be built pretty easily. Even a simple box that you can hop onto, nosewheelie, etc. Plywood can get expensive though.
Solid clay? That is usually the best type of dirt. Is it rocky or just too dry to dig? I would try and get a roto-tiller to loosen it up before building w/ wood. The best bet would be to get a skid-steer or walk-behind front loader.
Like sittingduck said, plywood can get really expensive. I just took my mini-half apart and relize it needs to be painted before I put it back together. Even though it was on blocks a few inches off the ground, water already started to cause some damage. And working with wood isn't as fast or easy as you may think.
The only reason I'm using it, is, I don't have the best soil and my son like to skate so I'm making a combo ramp. The dirt areas I will most likely use stonedust and pack it using a compactor. If I had access to clay, that would be my first choice.

a box jump could be pretty fun, i'll look into that. the clay around here is unlike any dirt i've seen before, it is damn near impossible to dig, let alone maintain. it's moist, but more on the dry side than wet. it is crazily dense, so when trying to dig it, each shovel full weighs like 30 lbs. packing it is impossible as well, and as soon as you get it wet, it sticks to everything and is still just as hard to pack as before. after trying a few things, chances are you'll get it into the shape you want. well, my old jump took me about 2 weeks to dig alone because of landlords complaining and having me move it. i was thrilled to have it done, and i rode it about two times before leaving it for awhile. the transition was boss, but the landing was a too short. three says was all it took for it to die. fissures ran through this thing that were like 3 inches wide, all because the clay was drying out a little. fix it, and it just got worse.
Making a quarter isn't all that bad, you just need to set some time aside to work just on that. There are a bunch of plans online that you can research and find the one you think will work the best for you. In the link above I mad a quarter and lander, there are a bunch of combos I can do with those two pieces - Box Jump, Hip jump left or right, spine, quarter to tree tap to lander, almost a half pipe.
your quarter is boss, that thing looks so well built and so sick. i might consider a scaled down version of that, but i'm still thinking. the box jump seems most tempting.
damn, ZHendo, that clay does sound burly. That ramp opjones built looks as good as you can get and sounds pretty movable which might be good for you having a landlord.
Build a big ass half pipe. It's weird... it seems like vert riding is not as popular lately. When I was a kid, all I ever wanted in my yard was a half pipe. But, since I never got one... I can't ride vert for sh!t.

My nieghbor built his son a tiny half pipe, he boards. But it's no where near vert, probably around 50/60 degrees towards the lip, about 4 feet tall. I've been fooling around on it a little bit, but it's pretty damn tight for 26'ers. But I'm going to keep at it. I'll snap a pic of it if I can remember tonight.
i got a little quarter pipe wall ride thingie being built right now in the corner of my yard. . not to sure how my neighbors are going to dig it when im doing axel stales on the top and can se right into their yard. hahahaha. but hey the curved wall ride part whould be bitching though. lots of plywood.
Do you have to ride in your yard? Go out on the street and find a bus stop. Bus stops are boss.
It was an example, find a ledge/wall improve on things you already know. Unless of course your to good for that..
if anything i'm too bad to be worthy of riding any ledge. there is one spot behind a gas station that i might be able to enjoy, i forgot about it until a few minutes ago, i'll have to see if it is still rideable.
let me tell u zhendo is right. i live near him and the dirt is not what u call nice. unless u have water all the time/ near creek.
