hey I'm from Asheville
Pisgah is an amazing spot to ride! there is so much riding out there you can just take any trail and it will be the best trail you have ridden....
There is also Bent Creek..
If you go to the Fish Hatchery in Pisgah and go up the hill its the dirt road to the top and then the first single track on your left.
To get to the fish hatchery you carry along the main road into pisgah untill it splits and you want to keep to the left. and at the end of that road is the hatchery.
If you want to find other trails go to the bike shop across the road called Sycamore Cycles and ask them they are the people to find sick trails! they are a bunch of gnarly guys.

You should check out a trail called Caney Bottom while you're there. It's a heck of a ride up (Maybe around 2 miles on a forest road?) but it's fast and fun once you get there! And Green's Lick is also a must. That's in the Bent Creek forest area.

I will be up there July 15 - july 23 I'm pretty sure. I just got a new yeti asx with a fox 40 up front a month ago and I have a 26" dirt jumper. I don't think I'll be able to bring both though (I'm travling with family).
I saw a video of greenlick on the net, how far from ashville is it?
Where is swannanoa, I saw pics of it on pinkbike, it looks sweet.

mount pisgah is illegal for bikers last time i checked. although its only illegal if you get caught, but deffinatly check out greenslicks while your up here man deffinatly a killer trail.
yeh man there is a pretty good chance you will see us at the dirtjumps. if you see a yellow sgs introduce yourself man.
its all good man i case them quite a bit due to the fact that dh bikes and dirt jumps dont exactly mix, and im still trying to get the hang of it.
Thanks a lot guys for the help, I'll be there from about the 15h-21st of july. If you guys want to ride, or you have a group ride sometime, shoot me over an email. I can do moderate cross country, or full blown downhill (I ride at diablo freeride park, and ride cross country with friends).

There ton's of sweet shuttles and rides around Brevard. T-pirate should chime in with some OG spots.
The swannanoa dj's are on private property, but the owner doesn't mind. I even heard a horrible rumor that someone bought the lot the dj's are on and they are going to plow it in a month or so.
Brevard is about 30-40 minutes away from asheville, and it is worth avery minute of driving.
