What an awesome competition. Quite happy with it this year and no controversy. Boyko won and deservedly so. He tricked off every hump he could find almost making the rest of the riders look average.

Big congrats to two local kids (and I mean kids) Alex Pro and Kyle McDonald. These guys are young and brought everything to the table.

Couple of huge crashes creating some nice carnage. Strait and Bearclaw got knocked out of the final by crashing hard on the last drop.

For me this has been the best one in the 4 years. Every event was dialed and was fun. I would say the audio could use some work and I still don't like the crankworx announcer (the dude looks and sounds like Jesse Ventura haha) Biggest downfall for me was DS. For the hosted VIP tent to not be anywhere near the competition was pretty weak. I know they did it to save money but it was a seriously tough choice between free beer and food or watching DS.

yea i watched it on rip.tv even though it was 1-4 am here. sick riding, it looks like that last drop was to big for most riders to trick though, kind of a shame
Ya, it was like that last year to. But I agree with the height, really seperate that riders who should win and shouldn't. While tricking is a big part of slopestyle, amplitute needs to count for something too, otherwise djers would rule the game completely.

crankworx was lame this year...big let down
Agreed. The course didn't seem as flowy, as last year. The fact that only 3 people tried to trick the last drop pretty much sums it up.
Then you have one of the biggest draws (Barrecloth) only finishing 1 complete run, Zink wiping out early in his 2 superfinal runs, and Strait also wiping out in his superfinal. Not knocking the guys at all, as they do throw down, and put their bodies on the line, it just sucks, that they did wipe out.
Mini-Props to Strait though. After his nasty wreck, gets back on his bike, and comes of the Jumbotron.
Props to Paul Bass for almost landing the tail whip off the Jumbotron.
Major props to Andreu L. If he had of thrown something off the Jumbotron on his final run, he would have won.
And the most props to Ben Boyko for nailing both 360's off the Jumbotron. I had a chance to chat with him, in the Norco Product launch, and he said he was not going to leave anything out there.

I dont think it was the hieght of the last drop, I heard it was the landing that was to flat. Last year it was just as high and way more tricks were trown. I dont think the course was as good as last year but it was still sick, I had a good time all weekend.

I enjoyed the slopestyle sooo much! While all you fools were watching the slopestyle, me and my boys were rippin the entire mountain with nobody around. We even did two runs down Aline with nobody around. It was choice. I saw the last few slopestyle runs on my way to the lift and just kept taking runs. Watching the slopestyle is cool but it's painful for me to sit and watch other people ride when I could be up rippin' the WBP myself. Watching people ride is for the winter months in front of my TV.
Actually, I'm really only kidding. I like watching those dudes throw down as well. Although, watching super talented riders hurt themselves on a poorly designed course was the sad part of it all. The good part was that I got so drunk on Sat. night (Bibs was a witness) that I barely remembered the days activities on Sunday! Good times!
