The steep root section with the sharp left at the bottom was sketchy, thank god it didn't rain! Hill was 2 seconds slower, anyone know if he had a clean run or crashed? Kona team had a good week.

Fabien was faster by 10 secs when he came through the finish. I was shooting the steep section, it was rad. People either looked sketchy or wicked fast.
Did you get any pics of the juniors or just the pros? I was #414 and had a pretty epic otb into the sticks at the end of the chute.

Just watched first round of Slopestyle, and let me say that I just wasted an hour of my life that I will never get back...

Why people are so amazed and amped by this? I just don't understand... these guys are paid big money for what, having balls?

It really doesn't compare to a good old fast DH run, but that might just be me

and Stikman maybe...
I knew I shouldn't have opened this thread.

Maybe I am not the first to think of this, but its the first I heard, but I want to either have crankworks slopestyle have all the 15k-25k people that are there watching able to TEXT a vote/score in for each rider, OR have some wifi company sponsor the event and give out 500-1000 handheld devices to fans to give scores to the riders. This will give a real accurate vote, vs the biased judges scores because there were a couple runs I thought should have got wicked scores.
I've always thought the best voting system for these types of events is letting the riders vote. Riders know best on what is rad. The problem with the fans voting is that they don't always know what is more difficult. For example, an opposite 3 would probably get scored lower than a backflip to the average fan, which it shouldn't be.

I always thought they should have a group of XC racers be the judges. Full spandex kits.

Good point....then give all the riders the stikman porty voting machine and let them point.
Maybe with this idea judged events can be cool.
