It's federal b/c they traveled across state lines with the dogs for fighting purposes. Ooops, I hope he denies the plea and then gets the book thrown at him in federal court. He should rot.

If he doesn't plead by Friday the aditional charges are RICO violations for tax evasion and racketering.

He would be screwed if those came down.

He needs to to get any deal that would have him released by next June-July so he could play for the Raiders.

Otherwise, he should take his money and run to Switzerland or something.

Word has it that R Mexico has agreed to a plea deal. Details of the agreement haven't been released.

I put the over/under of jail time at 14 months. Friendly guesses?

I think the only agreement he'd accept would be to be out of jail before next preseason. So I'll take the under.

6 months, $250k, that's my call.

Unless they go multi-state and rico, I doubt he will see more than that. I don't think he will ever play ball again though.

Vick is damaged goods. It was be social and economic suicide for any team to sign him in the forseeable future. Hell, I think Al Davis would even pass on him.

I take the under, 12 months. As for his career, Vick will lay low for a couple years, and re-emerge in the CFL. He will never start in the NFL again.

$5 says he's playing next year for the Vikings, Raiders, or Dolphins :twitch:

Yes, I included my former love, the Dolphins, as they've totally lost sight of what it meant to be a Dolphin from the Shula years. They'll bring ANYONE in who might help them win.

oh, get this...

of the entire group of fantasy football leagues on ESPN.com, 25% of the leagues have him drafted and of those 25%, they're taking him around pick 80.

In otherwords, lots of FF players think he's going to play again. Just sayin'.

Lots of FF players also think they have a legitimate shot with Megan Fox...just sayin'...

Delusion...it's the spice of life...kinda like alzheimers...but most of the time you remember your pants.

He could actually be banned from the NFL if the gambling issue that the NFL is investigating comes out against him...helllllllo pete rose.

Watchin' you. Writing it all down.
The sentence is in the judge's hands, the prosecutors only recommend a sentence based on the plea. The prosecutors are recommending 12 to 18 months.

Based on what they are saying this judge usually takes the high end of the recommendation.

I wouldn't say he "accepted" any agreement. He surrendered. He had to either give up now, or face decades in jail. He was out of options.

I say 18 months, plus a year suspension from the NFL on top of that.

Most overrated player EVER.

So I'm sure y'all heard about how retarded Whoopi Goldberg is -- she's not a jew, is she?

She, like others, make the claim that it's part of the southern culture.

Here's the thing, it's really simple... you know something is wrong/unacceptable, when you hide it from the public at large.

I've driven all-around the south, never saw a sign that said, "$1 beers at the dog fight tonight."

Is that the official stance of the Film Actors Guild or just Whoopi's?

I spent time in Georgia on press checks and there were "American Made" signs all over this crappy town I stayed in, yet all of their gas stations were BPs. They weren't happy when I told them what that stood for.

Yep, she is full of crap.
Living here in the azz-backwards state of SC, I can tell you that the culture here does not support dog-fighting in any way.
Most rednecks love their animals, sometimes too much.:twitch:
Just because an illegal activity goes on in a general area does not make it part of the culture at large. The sport is done by bottom of the barrel low life criminals.
That would be like saying being a hitman in the mob is OK in New York because it is part of the culture.

I saw a vending machine called "Homies" at dinner tonight. In it were all kinds of mexican cats and two of them with pits, showing teeth and being held back by a chain. This thread, and the pit bull thread amaze me. That was a machine for kids, for krissakes. :disgust1:

But they are Homies, they can manage. I think they have some (or had some) getting high and drinking 40's. They are only $.50 too! That's awesome.
