They're looking good for sure. Gotta love the killer prices too. I'd seriously consider the ECD if was in the market for an inexpensive DH bike.

If they are seriously making a large ECD then I'm all over it.
yea looks like they make a small medium and large for 08, they're doin a good job. the one thing i dont understand is why they run mis-match parts like the funn stem and bars and kmc chain when everything else is sram and their team is all sram, not a big deal, just funny

Funn is a team sponsor. The KMC chain is a common thing. KMC has better OEM prices, so the product managers spec them alot. Save a few buck on the bike, which adds up in the end.

bike looks splentabulous, by the way.
rather than make everyone click on the link:

schwinn, gt, mongoose are all made by pacific. Free drive suspension is like idrive, but with regular bearings, and a short link thrown in.

speaking of i-drive:

dhi for the win. when you see one of these things up close you'll fall in love with the frame. like something from transformers. I couldn't get a pic of the head tube rings that didn't look like ass.

and did you see the new 6" bike, the sanction? like the ec-d, it will also have a maxle.

the bad news! so far only the ec-d will be sold as a frame-only. darn, eh?
alright ill quit using up bandwidth.

I'm really digging the Khyber. If I didn't already have a Preston, that'd go on the short list. Love that it's spec'd with a 55 on the front. I'm considering putting one of those on my ride; it seems like a perfect complement to the Roco TST...

The Goose would be great if they put some decent bearings in the sucker. they've not got any bigger since last year have they?
high pivot at least, pitty you can't weld up the floating bottom bracket ga gah and whack and idler on it.

what would an idler do for this frame?
it was half in jest,I stated that if you pissed off the I-Drive(whatever it's called)by welding it all up,then you'd need an idler to stop the chain pulling the swingarm/back wheel down affectivley locking out the suspension.I can see more point in the drive system on the Goose with the high pivot than I can on the GT where the pivot is just above the chain and top of chain ring. Just forget it,it was stupid.

Anyone had one of these for a season or two who can comment on durability of the bearings and such?
I've got an 05, that was ECs before it was mine, so far no issues at all. I know on the couple that i've heard of, it was bent hardware not bearings. I do believe there are some changes to the bearing/hardware for 08.

Funny thing about eh suspension design is, it was suppose to be the next generation of GT i-drive, when the bankrupt stuff happened, they didn't pick it up and started to work on what GT is using now, so the mongoose guys ran with it.
