I’m flying out Thursday to stay with a buddy for 5 days, 3 days of riding in the Denver area. I am taking the Chumba Dh bike with me. We are going to hit Keystone on Friday and figure out what to do for Saturday and Sunday.

You guys have any recommendations? The dh bike is 8” travel so it’s not the best for pedaling, but I’m not opposed to a little pedaling to reach some killer stuff if your guys know of any.

Thanks
Robert

Keystone is gonna be socked in with people, since it's the series finals of the Mountain States Cup. But it WILL be fun, and Friday and Saturday the DH track and the rest of the mountain is open to both the public and racers. Sunday and Monday however, the DH race course will be racer-only but you may still be able to access other trails. But hell... why not race? There's DH, Super-D, and Dual Slalom, tons of goodness to be had.

Or for Sunday you could check out Sol Vista, near Winter Park. Lifts are free on the weekends and there's several REALLY good DH trails there, you probably wouldn't be too bored with that.

Other options are Winter Park (only one DH trail, some stunts and a slopestyle course) or Vail which also has limited options for DH.

Everything on Front Range is a real pedalfest to get to, and nothing I would suffer pedalling a DH bike up to hit. Resorts would be the safest/best/most fun bet.

Have fun mang.

Gotta agree with Full Trucker on Sol Vista. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

2 of the best downhill runs in the U.S.

Course # 1 has five gap jumps including a 32 footer that must drop 6-8 feet. The great thing is, they are all incredibly well designed and built. Those courses flow like nothing you've ever ridden.

When you drive up to the mountain, it don't look like much, but get on the trails and you won't be able to wipe the grin of your face. Plus it's freeeeeeee!! Hard to beat.

I'm going to be in the Boulder/Denver area around Halloween. Will anything be ridable or will it all be snowed in by that point?
