i had heard that they were intending on making one awhile back, i wouldnt expect it to be in production for awhile tho, but we will know the geo will be perfect.

from what i can read on that paper, it will be 3-4" travel, SS compatible with a spanish bb

hmmm, wonder if this is still moving forward?

when they say the susp. is "designed around a Spanish BB", does that mean it is like a cove /arrow/cowan ds suspension frame design (concentric, is that right?)? or does it just mean the frame uses a spanish bb... ??

Yup that's what I'm guessing since they're talking single speed compatible. That'd eliminate chain growth.

I've been wanting a killer slopestyle bike

I'm expecting that Black Market will be popping up with something someday as well. Just seems like Carter's been messing around with a lot of the small travel bikes. Could easily be wrong though...
Being a 3-4 inch travel target frame, I think most of these companies making "slopestyle" bikes are overdoing it. I think a burly concentric single pivot like the Dobe are perfect. I wish the Transition Double was this way, too. Would make things so much more simple. It's not like it's overly complicated or anything, I just like the fact that it's so simple to single speed, no need for chainguides and other problems waiting to happen.

I visited the 24 bikes Interbike booth a few years ago when Alain still worked there. They had a small full suspension frame sitting on the floor. I inquired about it and Alain jokingly tells me "we made it for our girlfriends".

and maybe it's right about at this point now while we're all drooling over it years later that he's (and others as well I'm sure) just sitting back in his chair, rubbing his hands together, and exhaling the words, "s u c k e r s".... biting on the hook of a trendy genre term thinking we all need one more bike...

It was a "copy/past" taiwaness bike similar to the sc bullit or someting like that.

The Dobermann slopestyle frame was built last week and tested on the weekend, i mite be able to post some pix laster today..."maybe" its freaaking nice!!!!

LOL Thats not really cool... We do not think that way.

We just want to make nice/good bikes. And be able to live from it.

We always knew that a short travel suspension frame is someting alot of rider would like...we did not do it sooner becose we ad no time to work on it....pretty simple...

That's hotness right there!! Do you have an idea of the cost for the production frames? I'd love to get my hands on one of those.

And what was the travel? 3-4 inches? Can't remember. I think 5" is about perfect... but that's just me and for what I'd use it for.
I'd be REALLY interested in a weight...

very smooth looking proto! Clean and simple, nice pivot.

and about my above comment, that was not a personal jab or anything, I apoligize for the direction there. It was simply a sarcastic comment related to the industry/corporations and the labelling of a new term/genre within bicycling just to sell a few more things, ie, "slopestyle"...
Looks like you have an incredible competitor on your hands there though, best of luck! hard to find a chromo fully these days, props to progression!

also, not sure if it would be noticeable, but could it help susp. feel if you reversed the shock for less unsprung weight? I'm probably just talking out of my droors, but it's just a thought...

4 on the floor, or 3 on the tree? I'm guessing 4 to match that rad plaid up front...

Thanks everyone for the good comments!!!!

oh this is sick!!! What is the weight and when can we get them?
The protos weight 8lbs...but there is alot of "fat" on it...we made that proto using tubes and parts that we add in stock...mostly to test the pivot and geo. the production model will be getting a major face lift and diet.

Hopefully they will be available this winter or spring the lastest.

Cheers!

I dunno Alain, there's a lot of pink on that thing. Are you sure it's not your girl's bike?

Just playing, it looks really tight. Can't wait to see the final version.
